Chapter 144 - "Best Party Ever Part I..."
Clara's PoV
'Look Daddy. Mummy gaveded me lip gloss' Poppy said running into the bathroom where he was having a shave and got excited.
'Wow. 5 and already wearing make up' he hummed as if he disapproved but I didn't really care.
This was her day and she was going to have a great one.
She had been so excited to get the dress on from the wardrobe which was pink with a ballet sort of skirt at the bottom with glitter and gems all over it, I had matched it together with white tights and the most amazing sparkly shoes.
It did cost but once again I didn't particularly care.
I had even managed to match Henry to her with his little boy jeans and a pink shirt which John wasn't overly impressed about. He even had his little suspenders on.
'Why does he need to wear pink? He's a boy?'
'And? What difference does that make? He needs to look his best and where I can I will match them'
Evie and Avia were well past the age where I could match their clothes unfortunately. If Evie wasn't such a diva I could have got away with matching her to Poppy but she's 10 next month so there is no way she would allow it.
'Come on come on. I want to go to my party' she squeaked even though there was still an hour and a half before we needed to leave and I was still standing around in my pyjamas.
'Go and play in the lounge yeah? Maybe ask Avia to put the Disney channel on for you?' I smirked enticing both her and Henry out of the room as I sighed and sat down on the bed fiddling with my jewellery box.
'You alright?' John asked as he sifted through the wardrobe for a clean shirt and jeans. He was going all out today. New clean clothes and everything.
'I'm fine. Just can't believe we made it to this day' I hummed.
'Are you talking about Poppy being alive or are you talking about the fact that your now 7 months pregnant?' He said with a raised eyebrow, hanging his shirt neatly on the door just wearing his jeans and sat down next to me.
'Both' I sighed, resting my head on his shoulder.
'It's a good thing that were at 8 months. Were far more progressed than last time. If your were to give birth tomorrow our baby would have a fighting chance' he assured clasping to my hand with his.
'I know. It's not that. At least I don't think it's that. It's more the fact that this baby has been making itself known for months now and I feel like I've ignored it. I don't even know what the gender is' I said feeling guilty about that.
I knew everyone else's and John knew Henrys.
'I think it's a girl' he said resting his other hand on my stomach pushing up the top so his flesh was touching my bare belly.
'What makes you so sure?'
'I dunno. Just the way it kicks makes me think it's a girl. Could be wrong' he shrugged kissing me carefully as another voice intervened.
'I think it's a boy' Avia said as she dug down the dirty washing basket.
'Excuse me? Your not supposed to come in here when the door is closed' I scoffed.
'We all know what you and Daddy do in your spare time Mummy. That baby is proof of it' she scoffed as I dropped my mouth.
Kids these days were so much braver when it came to talking about sex. I couldn't even talk to John about sex without blushing and we've been going at it together for years.
I would have been awfully embarrassed if I'd have walked in on my Mum and Dad kissing let alone anything else.
'What makes you so sure it's a boy?' John asked.
'Because I want another little brother to boss around. By the time this baby turns 5 - I'll be 16' she said... in fact I'll be nearly 17' she said thinking about it.
'Good god don't say that. Do you want your Mum to start blabbing like an idiot?' John scoffed.
'Hey maybe when the baby is 10 you'll have grandkids' Avia said. I'll be nearly 22' she smirked just to get a rise out of me as John buttoned up his shirt and enticed Avia out of the bedroom.
'Your mother is 8 months pregnant. Best not get on her hormonal and emotional side?' John suggested.
'I heard that you idiot' I growled.

We couldn't have got into the car park of the activity hall any quickly before Poppy was taking her seatbelt off and jumping out of the car.
We sent her ahead with Avia because she was just so excited to get in there whilst John and I unloaded the car.
'Ollie. Ollie. Yook. I got a supermaned figure' Henrys said as ran at the car as Richard pulled into the car park.
It was easier with Evie and Avia because they were a lot older - they don't need presents when other kids get presents because they understand more that it's not their birthday.
Henry and Poppy however are much closer in age than what Avia and Evie are. Poppy turns 5 in the June (now) and Henry will be 4 in December - so they are very close.
Therefore to shut him up we had to give him a small gift just to get him to understand.
'Where is she? Where's Poppy?' Lilly asked shoving the present in my hand which I rolled my eyes about because it will just end up in their car to get it back to ours anyway.
'High on sugar' I scoffed.
After chocolate cake and pancakes for breakfast she ate a lolly pop and had some coke from my can - so she was extremely hyper this afternoon.
'Come on. Let's get in' I said rolling my eyes as I went up to the desk and Poppy already had her shoes off to go in.
