Chapter 109 - "Big School..."
Clara's PoV
'And this is the English department' the tour guide said and Avia was gone.
She spotted all the books and was out of here.
'I think she likes it here' John smirked.
'I think that you like it here. Why can't she just go to an ordinary school?'
'We've discussed this. Avia isn't ordinary. She is academic. She needs this kind of environment. She isn't a social butterfly like yourself. I wish I had, had the opportunity to go to a school like this as a child'
'If you had then you would never have met me' I scoffed.
'I can't see Avia meeting anyone who's above her level. If anything she needs a nerd to keep her grounded' John said rolling her eyes.
'This place isn't fit Evie though. It's far too snobby. Avia can do snobby. In fact she wants too. But Evie can't'
'Were not here for Evie'
'No. but we have to think ahead John. This time next year we will be here for Evie' I pointed out. 'There's only 18 months between them'
'Hi. You must be Miss Avia Smiths parents. Congratulations on her result. Very impressive' the head teacher winked.
'Huh?'
'Passed with flying colours. One of the second highest results of those that applied. You'll be needing this uniform list' he approved handing us the prospectus.
It was gruelling. It wasn't your basic 5 lessons a day that's for sure. The day was half past 8 to four o clock with 6 lessons and a mandatory extra curricular hobby/talent that is taken part in the school at least 3 hours a week.
Only trouble was it's location.
It would mean that Avia would have to leave at 7 everyday to get here on time because she would have to get the train. And then she wouldn't be home until half past 5 or 6 o clock.
We no longer live in London central - we were far more on the outskirts now.
'This uniform is horrible. Brown tartan skirt? Horrible brown blazer, and that outer cost is disgusting' I scoffed.
'Clara. This isn't your choice' John said as he motioned towards where Avia was sitting chatting to a few other girls.
'She likes if doesn't she?' I groaned. There was just something about this place that didn't appeal to me and for some reason I felt wrong about letting her spend the next 7 years of her life here.
It was like I had a gut feeling and it wasn't a good one.

'I loved it. The library was so big. There was so many books Daddy' she said enthusiastically.
'I know. I saw. But you know if you come here then you have to get two trains to school and home from school. Because Mummy and I work all day and won't be able to bring you or pick you up'
'Yeah. I know. If Daisy goes here then she'll have to get the bus too' she explained skipping to the car ahead of us.
'Did you get the results?' John asked.
'Umm. Yeah. The post came yesterday. I didn't open them though. I figured we'd do it together and then you were discharged later than planned and Poppy got sick again and it all got too much.
'It's fine. She passed that's all that matters. And we don't even have to open the letter now.

We took Avia for dinner after had nexause we were out and it seemed like a mother/father/child thing to do.
And she loved it.
We got home at half past 9 and Richard was the one that was in the lounge even though I was sure Lilly was here as well.
'Lil took Ollie home to bed. She said she wanted to talk to you Clara' Richard said standing up for a stretch from the sofa and followed me over the road as John encouraged Avia for a shower.
'Lil? Lil I'm here?' I shouted up the stairs and followed to where she would be which was the bedroom.
She wasn't there but the light was on to the bedroom and the ensuite so I pushed the door open and found her on the bathroom floor trying to clean herself up and hide the evidence but if was too late. I could see everything.
'What's wrong?' Richard said having not heard a word as I slammed the bathroom door shut.
'Nothing. Just need a girly chat' I yelled locking the door to ensure he couldn't get in.
'If you two are secretly making out in there I'm so kissing john' he joked but it wasn't the time.
'It's okay Lil. I promise' I whispered as she broke down into sobs and rested her head immediately into my chest. 'Shush. It's okay'

'So nothing's changed' she sniffed, pulling the new pair of clean and protected underwear up and sifted on the pyjama shorts and hoodie.
'Lil. I'm so sorry' I whispered.
'I know' she sighed. 'I don't know why I can't do it' she cried. 'I held Ollie. I managed to keep him safe. Why can't I hold anymore?' She sniffed.
'You can and you will. You just have to give it time and don't rush it'
'Clara I can't have been pregnant for anymore than 3 weeks and I've already lost it'
'But your seeing doctors and things?'
'Yep. Except this one was natural'
'What? As in conceived? Via sex?'
'Yeah. Impossible I know right? We just gave it one try. Turns out it worked I just can't hold it' she mumbled laying down on the bed and curling up.
It obviously doesn't help that I'm pregnant when she wants it so much.

'What's going on?' Richard asked confused.
'Just. Be supportive yeah? She's a little lost right now. She's sort of had a bit of miscarriage I would say. You'd better do for an emergency hospital appointment in the morning because she will need a check up' I said.
'Are you serious?'
'She said you guys gave it a go and it turns out she couldn't do if that way either. Sorry Richard' I hummed
