Chapter 37 - "Wedding Breakfast..."

Clara's PoV

'Do you hear that?' John asked as I listened in to the silence and looked up at him in confusion.

'No what?'

'Exactly' he smirked. 'No kids to interrupt us. No jobs to make us get up. We could stay here all day and do exactly what we want' he said rolling over the top of me a little and was positioned delicately on my hips.

He was however to both of our disappointments wearing underwear. 'We could' I mumbled between kisses. 'If we didn't have a promised breakfast to get too - and a flight at 2 o clock this afternoon to make. We can have all the sex we want when we land'

'I'm going to hold you that one Miss Oswald' he scoffed.

'Correction. Mrs Oswald - Smith' I laughed making him confused. 'I'm not changing my name this time... I mean I am but I'm keeping Oswald. I'll be Oswald - Smith. But in the classroom I'll still be Oswald' I explained. 'On all legal documents I'll be Oswald - Smith'

'So we're not changing the kids last names?'

'No why would we? Smith is fine for them' I shrugged, pushing at his chest to get off of me. 'Come on we have to get up' I complained.

'It's the morning after my wedding... Why do I have to do anything' he scoffed.

But he was nervous. He followed me around the entire morning from room to room. He even watched me put my make up on which I knew bored him senseless.

'John... What are you doing?' I questioned as I noticed him playing with my mascara and then the whole thing leaked into a goop on his hand. 'For god sake do you know how much that costs' I whined at him pushing him out of the way.

That was one of my best mascaras, but he  didn't move - instead he continued watching me with an insane look of worry.

'I'll replace it' he mumbled.

'John what is your problem?' I complained loudly and grabbed my wet wipes then stood in front of him at the bed.

He watched me with owl eyes as I hovered over him with the wet wipes and wiped his hands from mascara gloop. 'Your replacing that you idiot' I laughed.

'Your not angry?'

'No. Well yes I'm angry about the mascara but it is replaceable' I said confused.

'I don't want you to get angry and go outside again. I don't want this to be a repeat honeymoon of when I was with Lucie. I can't have you die on me Clara. I wouldn't be able to cope and I sure as hell wouldn't remarry' he remarked.

'Whoa? Where the hell did that come from? I'm not going to die. I'm not going to leave your side for the next 15 days. Where you are I am because that's how I get the sex' I smirked which he did laugh at as well and stood up.

'I'm sorry. I don't want to be all obsessive and over you all the time - you need space - I just don't want a repeat. Loosing you would be a whole different ball game' he mumbled.

'Come on silly. Let's go and get this breakfast out of the way' I said rolling my eyes and taking his hand.

'Here they are. The newly weds. Just about manage to rip yourselves from under the covers did ya? He keep you up all night Clara? I must say you've covered it up quite well if he has' Richard roared, as I made sure my scarf was covering my neck well and good.

It was allowed because it was my wedding night but I knew Richard would never let it drop if he saw marks or bruising from John's mouth down my neck.

Not that he had any room to talk - because be has left some pretty good ones on Lilly before now.

'Shut up Richard' I said rolling my eyes as I picked my little Poppy up and headed to the unlimited breakfast bar to get us some breakfast. 'There are small one around' I scoffed.

All the kids had stayed last night in the hotel - with Lilly and three kids in one room, and Richard with two kids in the other room.

It ended up being Evie and Henry with Richard and the other three with lilly.

Now they were all spending the week with lilly - with the exception of Avia come Friday where she wants to go to a friends for the weekend and Evie who will stay with Richard and Ollie for the weekend.

I had left Lilly in full control of them - as she was still the nanny - and my Dad as a back up if anything happened or if baby sitting was needed.

I knew Lilly would be okay though. She's a good Mum.

'What time is the flight?' Lilly asked, as I poured some tea and munched on the toast I had picked from the bar not really in the mood this early in the morning to eat.

'2 o clock. I can't wait to hit the beach and take a stroll in the sun. I need this down time. I've needed a holiday for so long' I mumbled.

We were supposed to go back to New York again last Christmas and spend it with David and his kids - we go to New York because it's half way for both of us, with us being in London and David in Chicago - but after the miscarriage neither of us was in the mood to be traveling or going from place to place so we decided to see the new year out here.

I'd love to get Avia back to New York for her 11th birthday which was something I was discussing with John. Just me and her go to New York for a couple of days would be good, and it would be around Christmas time.

But since her birthday was next month it didn't seem something that was likely to happen - but something I was still in the process of discussing with him.

'You do deserve a break I'll give you that. I'd love to take Ollie away but I don't think Richard would let me' she mumbled finishing piling her plate for the second time.
