Chapter 34 - "Surprise Wedding Arrangement..."
Clara's PoV
I was standing outside the hotel round the back mouth agape.
It was quite cold yet for some reason all of our closest friends and family were gathered out there and the facilitator that had agreed to do the wedding out there as well.
It was November so it wasn't exactly warm. Especially for me because I was in my white wedding dress.
Everyone was still in their outfits but it was under a great big canopy that was decorated in fairy lights and plants.
I guessed it was all so much more relaxing to John.
Everyone was in their fine and posh stuff yet we were stood out in the back on the grass.
If I had knew he was planning on going to change my plan I would have bought my wellies.
'Richard what's going on?' I whispered clinging onto his arm as John looked at me and ran towards us.
'It's a little bit impromptu - but he feels far more relaxed. He needs this' Richard hummed encouraging me to just play along - which I did.
It looked beautiful because under a canopy was all covered in fairy lights and tinsel with lights dangling and flowers laying around.
It didn't even look like a slap dash job. It looked genuinely wonderful.
'I'm so sorry Clara. I was panicking and couldn't do it - so I've made things easier. Are you annoyed?' John asked panicking standing in front of me so I leant up to kiss him which followed behind a few oos and ahs.
It was wonderful.
'John it's lovely. Just as much as you are' I chuckled as three little girls appeared from behind me with a basket full of flowers and starters throwing them around the field.
Avia smiled happily holding the rings in the boxes which she had helped the both of us choose out because she knew us well.
It was amazing and a total shock to me.
I took hold of John's hand and grinned to myself as we walked towards the little gazebo/ tent thing and I had to admit that it looked even more beautiful up close than it did from afar.
I followed him in and watched how much of a nervous wreck he was but the bonus was that there was only very, very close family and friends in the gazebo - everyone else was outside of the gazebo.

It went by in literally a whirlwind and suddenly John was giving the most beautiful vowels and whilst we had done them all once before - I just felt like it meant something a lot more this time.
Then before I knew it we were being whisked away and having paper thrown at our heads then we headed towards the inside where there was a little back room for the bride and groom to have 5 minutes of piece and quiet before the reception, dinner or photos.
'I love you' I mumbled tongued deeply in his mouth making an impact.
'Hmm. I love you more' he grumbled not even removing his mouth off of mine. 'God I can't wait for tonight' he whisper growled like an idiot in my ear.
'Shush. You'll make me blush you idiot. I don't want to go back out there all flushed' I laughed leaning away and picking up a glass that looked like champagne or wine to everyone else but was actually lemonade.
I had worked out long ago that when people are around everyone else drinks - so if I look like I'm drinking then other people think I'm handling myself really well and it makes me think that I am drinking along with them.
I don't really understand it - the brain does funny things but it works for me.

Did umm--- did you invite your mother?' I asked as we were looking at the seating plan I had spent weeks devising so knew it off by heart anyway but was looking really just to make conversation without having to make eye contact with him.
'You recognised her then?' He asked sounding a little tetchy.
'Little bit. She looks different. But still the old bat that hated me' I said.
It was true to say she as an old bat and that she did hate me. Why do you think the first time we got hitched? John had practically run away from home at 18 when he got the freedom to go to university and never went back which was why he spent all his time with me.
Christmas and Summer after we got together long term and he just came and stayed with me and my Dad was somewhat fine with that.
'No. it wasn't me' he admitted which made breathe a breath of relief.
'So why is she here?'
'I don't know. I mean I do know that David mentioned the wedding to her the last time he visited her and now she's just here to make a fuss'
'Where the hell is she going to sit?' I scoffed.
'Richards spoken to them in the kitchen. Whilst it's going to cost a fricken fortune - she can eat' he sighed taking my hand and kissing my forehead. 'Can we just not let her get to us yeah? I'm feeling a little fragile as it is from yesterday - if she winds me up too much then I might blow' he admitted.
'Agreed' I smiled following him outside to wait for everyone else to be seated, but he ran in quickly when I was standing with lilly.
'Now. You two need to behave otherwise I'll make you sit with grandad and he will make you eat all of your vegetables' John smirked instructing Poppy and Henry.
'I'll look after him daddy' Poppy said taking Henry's hand and sat next to Ollie at the table.
'Good girl'
Avia and Evie were sitting up at the main table with Richard and Lilly and Clara's Dad, which meant that Poppy and Henry had to sit at the kids table and that they had to trust them to behave.
