Chapter 55- "Annoyed..."
Clara's PoV
'Miss. Ryan and Connor are fighting over there' Ruby said in a panic as she ran up to me.
I felt sorry for the 12 year old who had witnessed the start of the fight and had done the right thing by telling a teacher.
'Cut it out the pair of you' I said pushing through the crowds of teenagers to get to the two in question that were fighting.
'Oi. There's a teacher' someone yelled but it didn't stop the punching and fighting as I had no choice but to get involved and try to stop the fighting.
There was another teacher that was around that was trying to get rid of all of the pupils so that there wasn't an audience that was egging them on.
That's the thing with being a teacher. If you get involved your risking your self but if you don't get involved your risking the kids.
'Cut it out now' I scoffed, pushing my way towards them with one boy moving out of the way and stepping back when I was the one that got whacked in the face by a huge fist and stumbled backwards.
It was as if the whole playground went silent at the idea of a teacher being punched in the face.
I was pretty sure I head some bones crack in my nose as I landed on my arse and definitely winded myself.
Before I could even think about the fight things had calmed down as a few male teachers were around and restraining them, as everyone else was ushered away from the area.
I just pushed myself off the ground and leant on the wall regaining some of my eyesight and groaned that my glasses were on the floor cracked somewhere when I found John standing right in front of me and holding onto my arms gripping tight.
'Clara? Are you alright?' John said frantically trying to get my attention.
'I'm fine John stop fussing. These things happen all the time' I whined, pushing him out of the way but there was almost definitely blood dripping from my nose. It was awful and felt seriously bruised.
'You need to go inside' he said trying to get involved but this was hardly the first fight she had gotten involved with.
I knew that it happened all the time but it was John's first fight.
You don't really get fights like this in the primary school of course because they're are all a lot younger than this.
It turned out that if was a group of year 10 boys who were fighting over a packet of cigarettes that were immediately confiscated by the head master and marched to his office.

'You need to fill in the incident form please Clara. And then o need an eyewitness account' Mr Armiatage said as I had a wad of cool tissues pressed up against my nose to stop the bleeding, and was handed the paper work.
'She needs to go to a hospital' John scoffed getting involved unnecessarily.
'John it's fine. I've been involved in more fights than I can count or be bothered to remember' I said rolling my eyes.
'Why are you being so short with me? You might have broken your nose? We need to check?' He said as pushed myself up and started scribbling things on paper even though I can't see anything.
'I'm not' I scoffed even though that was a lie.
I love John. I love him to pieces but this was sort of the whole point of coming to this school.
It's rougher and more dangerous than just a regular school or a private school. There was so much material here and I could interview so many people and pupils from that fight and use my own first hand experience.
That the point of being here and John getting involved was starting to really get to me a bit.
I needed space. We were suddenly living together, parenting together, sleeping together and working in close quarters together.
We even bought the same car to work this morning to save on petrol (John's idea) and I don't even know why.
I finish up way later than him so he would have to either stick around for ages, go home and pick me up later or I would have to get the bus which is just more aggravation for me.
'You'll have to get some new glasses' he said as he placed the broken black thick frames on my face and smiled.
'They'll be fine'
'They're broken. That tape won't last forever' he pointed out just being sweet and worrying for me, but I didn't care. I snapped.
'Well I've got a lot to do now so can you just go back to your classroom?' I scoffed standing up and pushing him out of the way.
I could see he was confused but i needed space.
'You might have broken your nose?' He said stepping toward to touch h my face but I stepped back out of his way.
'For gods sake I'm fine. Just leave me alone I'm fine. I'll meet you at home tonight'
'But we came together'
'Well then I'll get the Fucking train' I snapped.

I had to admit that I regretted snapping at him so quickly.
He had only been working there for a few weeks and it wasn't his fault really. He didn't start the fight.
It just so happened that a fight was good for me. It meant that I got some good raw evidence of fighting in an underdeveloped school.
He did go home without me though.
Which did mean that I had to get the train alone with all my books and laptop and a whole bag full of research and paper work.
It was a bit depressing.
When I did get home I was cold and even more angry and snappy so just stormed up the stairs and went to my bed... which unfortunately for me John was in.
