Chapter 77  - "Rain Storm..."

Clara's PoV

'Look I'm a regular user of this cabin. I travel for a living. There's no way you want me making a complaint. I've got people high up' John snarled trying his best but let's be honest... It was turning into the Fucking Mary and Joesph story except than Fuck none of us are about to drop.

'Mummy are we going to have to sleep on the street like hobos?' Evie asked pointing at a poor person on the street that was asleep amidst some sleeping bags.

'No Evie. Don't be silly' I scoffed but I wasn't sure they was the answer. It was bloody Christmas Eve.

'Mummy. You haven't even wished Henry a happy birthday yet' Avia said as she lifted Henry into her arms like a little mother.

'Sorry?'

'It's 1 AM' Avia pointed out as I looked at my watch and took Henry into my arms:

'So it is' I chuckled kissing his forehead. 'Happy 3rd birthday little buddy' I laughed. 'Hey John. It's Henrys birthday' I shouted as he nodded but wasn't really into it trying to sort a couple of rooms out.

'Were seriously willing to pay whatever is necessary. Just for a couple of nights' John said as I rolled my eyes then heard a scream.

'Eew. Poppy stop. Your getting sick everywhere. Gross there's sick on my shoes' Evie said stepping back and throwing them off in a squeal.

'Oh god. Poppy' I grunted running towards her and looking around for some sort of thing for her to vomit in rather than the floor. Thankfully one of the members of staff came running at us.

I watched as he held the bucket for her to vomit in and then looked her up and down.

'Is she okay?' He asked with a very clear English accent.

'She'll be fine I'm sure' I said back.

'Your English?'

'Indeed. We were supposed to be going to Chicago but flights aren't landing so we were sent here instead' I laughed pointing at my husband.

'You want a room?'

'Two would be preferable but one will do. Especially with Poppy. We just need somewhere for her to sleep. She's so sick' I mumbled stroking her cheek as he called for the cleaning staff to come and clean up.

'Sorry about the floor'

'Don't worry. I'll get someone to clean it up. These thing a happen' he hummed. 'Give me a moment' he smirked with a wink.

I watched him stand up from his crouched down position and smiled at me walking towards the check in desk.

'What's the problem?' He hummed.

'Nothing. They want a room that we don't have' he said satisfied.

'Well clean two rooms for you on the 5th floor. Just give us half an hour. In the meantime feel free to browse the room service menu and then once we get you in I'll take the order straight to the kitchen' he said with a smile.

It was a smile that I recognised. He looked familiar.

'Booking details?'

'Wait? Are you George Perkins?' I said with a shocked face working it out.

'And your little miss Clara Oswald' he laughed as John looked between us and then it clicked with him too. 'Your John smith. Legendary boyfriend of Clara. Can't believe you two are still together of all people' he laughed.

'Yeah. Married. We've got two kids together' John said annoyed.

I know he was just annoyed because people have this thing that he was never good enough for me. They all thought in high school that I could do way better but I didn't see it like that.

'Well. Feel feee to take a seat. We'll get you on your way shortly' he said.

'Daddy? Why are you watching Mummy like she's doing something wrong?' Avia said as she jumped up on the chair next to John where John was looking at Clara like she was doing something wrong.

Avia was right.

But Clara wasn't actually doing anything wrong. Everyone was just tired and annoyed that they weren't where they were supposed to be and Poppy wasn't feeling too well and actually now he thought about Henry was being extremely clingy.

'I'm not' he scoffed.

'Who's Mummy's friend?'

'He's just a man that both Mummy and I went to school with. He's the nice man who is getting us a hotel room and a bed for the night. Now chance you chosen what you want to eat?' John said changing the topic.

He knew that Clara had been very off lately.

He had come up with all sorts of scenarios in his head and actually seeing other guys or talking to other guys that can keep up with her needs was one of them - but George couldn't have been a huge contender because he was here in another country.

Of course the internet is a wonderful thing.

'He's training to be a paramedic. How cool is that?' I smirked walking next to John who wasn't really listening. At this point it was just about getting Poppy into a comfortable bed so we can get medications into her and let her sleep.

'Yeah very cool' John sighed.

'Oh tell me your not still jealous of him are you? I know he was the big shot back in high school but I married you and had kids with you. What's the problem?' I said.

'Nothing. Why have you skipped to conclusions?' He growled as we opened the bedroom door and the first thing we heard was a clap of thunder.

As if this holiday/trip/Christmas wasn't bad enough already - we now had rain in LA to deal with.

Plus the fact that Henry hates the thunder and lightening. And we really don't know why.

We think it's because the dog isn't a big fan and when the dog hears thunder he hides under the tables and so does Henry. He hides with him.

It is quite cute but concerning at the same time.

'We might as well be in England'
