Chapter 140 - "Practice Day..."
Clara's PoV
'Come on. Come on. Come on Daddy. We need to go' Avia scoffed loudly as she pulled John to the front door.
He wasn't even dressed yet. He was just walking around shirtless with his suit trousers on in a hunt for a shirt that didn't have something or a child created stain on it.
'What is the big rush? You don't need to be there until 8.30. It's only 7.15' John hummed stopping to steal a mouthful of my porridge and moved on.
'She's excited John. I don't know why? This school is going to run her into the ground. And none of her friends are going there. There's only 4 people in the whole class that aren't going to the Oakwood senior school. It just seems odd' John sighed.
I was the one that was apprehensive about this school but it seemed that John was quite nervous about sending her there as well right now even though he had never expressed these views before.
'Your going to take the rest yeah?'
'Yep. There's not that long until the end of the school year. Just two weeks and shitty sports day to go' I smirked giving him a quick kiss. 'Don't forget the appointment is at 12.30 for the scan' I said.
'I won't. I'm pretty on top of appointments and things these days' he scoffed at my mannerisms. 'Come on Avia. Let's go' he sighed as she bolted out of the front door and straight into the car.
'Have a good day' I waved.

'I take it she went in okay? Did you stay for the coffee morning?' I asked as we sat in the waiting room of the maternity ward playing our favourite game of who's cheating on who.
I get a bit bored at appointments because I've had so many now that when I sit and wait I like to try and come up with stories.
Now we just do it together.
The last woman we saw was definitely a drug addict on leave from her work as a prostitute and had potentially three fathers. I planned there phrase for Jeremy Kyle and everything.
'Yeah. Parents were just too snobby for me all these privately had tuition kids for years that play every instrument under the sun'
'You realise you just described Avia'
'Yes but I'm not posh or snobby' he pointed out.
'Clara Oswald?' The midwife called. He was so saved by the bell on this one but he is very snobby when he wants to be. You just have to see what he's wearing to tell he is stuck up.
'So your very close to the end now. 10 weeks to go now. Have you been taking things easy?'
'Yes'
'You are such a liar. Your still bloody working' John scoffed in the background looking at all the posters on the walls.
'Smith' I spat.
'You really should consider taking your leave. If you need some help organising it I'd be happy to sign you off?'
'No. No I'm fine really. I'm a teacher and the school year ends in 10 weeks. I can do all the sitting around I like then' I explained. I did not put all that fight into keeping my job for me to just disappear on leave.
'Right okay. Baby is looking very comfortable. And very happy healthy heart beat' she confirmed which was all I needed to hear.
Obviously the appointment goes on forever with her doing all sorts of other checks but my baby was okay - so I wasn't too worried.
'Baby is quite small still though. So if we do get to 40 weeks I'm thinking that we should go up to 14 days overdue' she explained.
'Huh? John asked.
'If the baby was born tomorrow it would be perfectly okay. It's just that we want to see if we can get a little bigger over the next few weeks and some extra days is always handy. As long as the baby is comfy we will roll in that favour' she explained handing me the ultrasound which is all I ever came for.
I had started a scrapbook with all the kids ultrasounds and things in them so that I could keep them all together for good memories and mementoes.
'Right I've got to go back to work' John hummed.
'Whyyyy?' I whined hoping that he would come home with me and we could snuggle all afternoon.
'Because I have a meeting at 2. That'll be an hour then I'll go and get Avia. Lilly said she'd bring the rest home so do as people are telling you and go and relax at home' he said with a kiss and ran off.

'Good god what are you up to in here?' John asked as he came up to the girls bedroom where I had things spread all over the floor.
'I thought I could clean out their wardrobes. They have far too many clothes that they just don't need. So I figured I'd organise' I hummed.
'Can you not just sit still and read a book or something?'
'Nope' I grinned as he rolled his eyes but instructed Evie and Avia to bed and made me leave the room.
'How was your day Avia?'
'It was great fun. I want to learn to play the violin over the summer' she said out of nowhere which made me raise an eyebrow but I thought nothing of it.
I'm sure he would let her learn.

'Are you sure we made the right choice with this school?' I asked John as he stripped right down to his boxers and locked the bedroom door.
It was just a common fact that if one of us locked the door we knew why.
'Of course we did. She likes it. We can't stop her. If there's any problems down the line then we worry' he explained.
It didn't make me feel any better but then he got on the bed next to me and started kissing me so the thoughts bubbled away.
