Chapter 170 - "Baby Spit..."

Clara's PoV

'Morning Miss Oswald. So lovely to see you' Mr Foster said as he opened the school doors for me.

It was weird that he was waiting for me at the doors but whatever.

It was the 20th of August and I was back in to start preparing my classroom and sorting things out for next year.

It was weird because I was being put into year 1 again. I hadn't been a year 1 teacher since Avia was in year 1 and that was 6 or 7 years ago now.

'I see you've bought the little munchkin with you? Congratulations are in order' he smiled.

That was even weirder. Like that man making any kind of positive or happy gesture was down right abnormal.

'Umm... yeah. His name is Harry. He was born a couple of weeks ago. August 4th' I hummed like it was information he needed to know. 'What are you doing here anyway?' I asked as I pushed the buggy towards the classroom he was leading me too.

'I wanted to introduce you to your two new colleagues. I thought you would be the perfect person to work with two new NQTs' he said as I instantly groaned.

'NQTs? Really?' I sighed, not wanting to be out in charge of them. They are always way to bubbly and loud and have too many opinions.

'They're teaching year 1 and 2 this year and I just figured that you would be the perfect person to look after them?' He hummed.

'Me being the yummy Mummy I'm guessing? The perfect person to work with the-- Hi' I smiled suddenly as two people walked towards me.

They were so obviously two 21 year old teachers that were going to make my life really difficult by sleeping together at some point and then breaking up hundreds of times. I could just sense it.

'This is Aurora and this Rob. They are our NQTs of this year' mr Foster said getting introductions out of the way and leaving us too it.

'I'm Miss Oswald' I smiled.

'We know. Your the longest running teacher in the school except from the reception teacher Mr Davies now. Mr Foster told us'

I never really thought about that one.

I suppose they were right. Me and Mr Davis had been working here now for 10 years. I had never thought about moving on. Never even considered it... except from when I did my Masters but even then I didn't go back go coal hill.

I was bloody 35... 36 in three months time - it had been years (9 and a half years to be precise) since I was an NQT.

God to be young again.

'Right okay... and this is Harry. My little boy' I said showing him off like he was a trophy. If only I had noticed he had spat up and was practically lying in his own sick. 'Oh shit' I scoffed pushing him immediately into the classroom and laying his little carpet out on the rug.

I had been prepared and figured since there was no kids around that I might as well let him have some stomach time rolling around the classroom as I prepare.

Now however I have two idiots to keep an eye on.

'Aww... he's such a cutie. He your first? I bet you was well excited?' Arora hummed.

'God no. He's my 4th. 5th technically. 6th if you want to count my step so-- Adrien' I grinned gleefully running at him and giving him a tight hug.

'Well look at you not fat anymore' he smirked.?

'I'm so sorry I didn't really see you at the baby warming shower'

'Hey. I get it. New baby. 4 kids already. Come to your uncle Adrian' he smirked sifting Harry straight from the sick and gave him a snuggle.

'Whoa... he's covered in sick' I pointed out.

'He's fine' he laughed in a chuckle. 'Now... Is your Mummy looking after you?' Adrian hummed as the other two disappeared for a bit. 'Tough luck'

'Pft. Your telling me. Like that's all I need with my hectic life at the moment. Two more asses to wipe' I grumbled unenthusiastically.

'Mummy. Daddy took us to the arts and crafts centre today' Poppy grinned pulling me towards her paintings.

'Oh wow sounds like fun' I smirked Dad about missing out on it.

'I even got a smile out of Evie. I have t seen her smile since she was 6' John said very excitedly.?

'Bloody hell... Ate you telling me she actually enjoyed something that wasn't staring at her bloody phone?' I said astonished.

'Yep' he grinned with his little pink apron on cooking the dinner and cutting up some vegetables doing the whole domesticated thing. 'How was your day? You do your decorating?' He asked as I immediately sat down and whipped out the boobs.

You would have thought the whole point in taking him was to feed him during the day? But no bloody kid slept for three hours this afternoon getting him out of routine and ruining g my schedule.

'Ugh. Got most of the decorating done but Foster has dumped two NQTs on me which is so what I don't need right now' I whined.,

'Trainees?'

'Sort of. I dunno I don't think I can be asked with them. Their so young that they'll most likely sleep with each other and one of them will get sacked. It will mKe my life easier' I huffed.

'You was young once'

'Once yeah, I haven't had job change or proper school change in 10 years. I've been at coal hill for so long now. I'm like 4 years off of 40. I've done nothing productive.'

'Your head of English and key stage 2. You operate a class all the time and you went up to the big school for a bit. You've achieved loads. Plus you've done all this while pregnant, getting your kids back in your life and dealing with me through my shit. That's achievement!' He says with a pep talk.

Somehow it didn't make me feel any better.
