Chapter 68 - "Snow...?"
Clara's PoV
'Right. That's that. It's officially a snow day' John said as Evie looked up from the sofa and stormed up the stairs.
'Good. That means I can go back to bed' she said happily and wandered away.
It didn't really shock John that had happened.
She wasn't exactly a social person. As if a snow day wasn't bad enough though - they had been snowed in with Lilly and Richard as well.
Their boiler had broken two days ago... So John had volunteered for the three of them to come and stay last night when the snow had really started falling heavily.
He couldn't leave them in a cold house.
It had of course been a nightmare since.
'Oh good god. 4 kids and three adults in one house for the entire day. Wow we're going to do each other's heads in' Lilly said as the three adults heard a smash from the living room.
John wasn't overly shocked to find that Ollie and Henry were standing by a smashed vase looking very guilty.
'You'd better hope that Clara doesn't see this. That was one of her favourite vases' John hummed as the pair ran off to cause more mischief.
'Oi. Get back here the pair of you' John shouted.
'He did it' John heard in sync knowing of course that they would blame each other. He rolled his eyes.
'Fine I'll just take both of your iPad times for this afternoon away' he yelled hearing the disappointment in both voices.
Of course taking iPad time away meant that John would have to entertain them all day.
The only thing that shuts toddlers up these days was with the iPads.
He doesn't know what people did back in the olden days without iPads.
'Right! That's it. Let's go outside' John scoffed as he watched Poppy eying up the snow.
He wasn't actually sure it be a good idea for her but he didn't want her missing out on all the fun.
'I want to play in the snow' Henry said with his little lisp climbing all over John getting his full attention.
What John did know was that Clara and Avia were due back today - tomorrow evening really whether there was snow or not which meant that John should have been cleaning up the house but instead he was going to join them.

Henry was funny all layered up in his snow stiff and very cute little monster woolly hat and gloves.
'Grrrrraaawww' Henry said jumping at Richard and onto his back whilst Poppy was showing John how to build a snowman.
'Do we have any carrots Daddy?' Poppy asked as she was enjoying being outside the front of the house.
They were never allowed to play out the front of the house. The only reason they were today was because the road had been shut off from the cars as there was too much snow for anyone to get down.
'I'm sure we can find some carrots but first we have to build the snowman body' John explained.
'Daddy. I can't find my Mickey Mouse mug' Evie shouted out as she chartered her teeth at the front door.
'Oh it's awake now are we? You done sleeping? Even the dog is out here' John said which he thought would have persuaded Evie considering they're very close but it didn't.
'Oh that's at mine' Richard shouted.
'See it's at your Dads' John yelled.
'Can you go and get it?' She whined.
'Nope. If you want it you'll have to go over and get it' John smirked as the front door slammed shut.
'I could have just got if' Richard said rolling his eyes as the door opened again and revealed Michelin Evie.
'Yeah but if you had we wouldn't have been able to do this' John smirked with a wink throwing a snow lump at her revealing a huge scream and and punch to John.

'Hey Avia. How was New York?' John grinned as we came through the door and she gave him a hug.
'Cold' she scoffed. 'But I got to do lots of shopping' she said happily running up the stairs instantly to go and see Evie. 'Evie Mummy got me some bras. Real ones' she shouted up the stairs.
'Bras?' John smirked with raised eyebrows.
'She's 11 now. She's a little woman' I chuckled, hugging John tightly. 'Where are the others?'
'Poppy is sleeping and Henry is at a friends with Ollie. We'll pick him up in the way to your Dads' he shrugged.
'Ugh there's so much to do' I whined. 'How are we doing on the eating front?' I asked knowing that we were trying so hard to get Poppy to eat more.
I hoped that by going to my Dads for the evening and for presents it might convince her but I do t hold out much hope.
Unfortunately it's only the 14th of December but we have no choice but to go to my Dads for a pre Christmas thing now because there just isn't any time the rest of December.
With chemo and planning for America again and school and seeing friends - it just won't squeeze in anywhere else.
'If it's any consolation I bought a present that we can share' I said with a whisper in his ear. 'Victoria secrets has quite the selection of underwear' I growled.
'I look forward to it. Anymore surprises?' He asked kissing me deeply as I kissed back and thought about things.
Maybe I should just rip off the plaster? Just tell him? Or maybe I should keep it too myself until the pregnancy is a little more advanced?'
I'm not even sure if I want the pregnancy to advance.
'Hey. Have you seen Lilly?'
'She's at the office. She's been in the crèche all day' he explained.
'I'm going to go and see her' I said with an assuring smile. 'Need a girly chat that's all'
'Anything I can help with?' He asked confused.
'Are you a girl?'
'No'
'Then it won't be a girly chat will it?' I pointed out grabbing my handbag and headed straight to the crèche telling John that I'll just meet him at my Dads.
