Chapter 173 - "The Service Station..."
Clara's PoV
'Clara just go on. I'll stay here with Harry and follow on in a bit. You should get going' John encouraged as I jumped up out of my seat.
'I feel terrible about abandoning you with him though?'
'And? He's my son as well as yours' he hummed with an encouragement to go. 'Go' he said so I picked my bag up and headed to the car.
John sighed and looked at the 3 week old baby as they were sat in the service station about 90 minutes from Blackpool as of yet.
He didn't want to subject Harry to another hour in the car squashed into a car seat just yet so he decided to throw on the papoose and take a wander around.
The bonus was that it was mid August and now the rain storm had sort of passed the weather was supposed to be good.
He flicked through a few books that were boring in w h Smith, had a couple of cups of coffee in Starbucks and even had a burger in Burger King and all of that only killed about 30 minutes.
He realised now why he very rarely travels alone anymore and he hadn't even told Clara about how he planned to travel more again.
He and Richard were in the process of hopefully in the next year opening up another branch to the company in Scotland and potentially were in talks with Ireland as well.
The only problem with it was that it meant he would have to do a lot more travelling again and he really didn't want to miss this time work his kids whilst they were still young enough.
It's bad enough that his babies Evie and Avia had all grown up - he did not want to miss his boys.

'Dad?' I grumbled as the front door of the house opened but it wasn't Dad. Unfortunately it was Linda.
'Ugh what do you want? You are the last bit of stress that your Dad needs right now' she scoffed.
'She's my Gran' I snapped.
'Was your Gran' she growled back as I widened my eyes but it wasn't unexpected news.

'Hey Dad' I said poking my head through the door.
'Hey Clar' he hummed as I went to sit next to him in the lounge on the sofa with Linda loitering in the doorway with intent.
'How you doing?' I asked.
'Well your Gran died about 3 hours ago but if was expected. She was 89' he smiled remembering the good old days obviously.
'She had a good life. I just wished she could have met Harry'
'Oh crikey where are the kids?' Dad grumbled knowing that he was upset but his grandkids still came first.
'At home with Richard and lilly. Harry is on his way with John. I was an idiot and left without checking the safety features in the car for Harry. You know what all the laws and safe guarding is like these days' I laughed trying to make a joke out of things.
It didn't work.

'Right come on Mr Man. Let's get to finding your mummy and check that she is okay' John said strapping Harry into the car and got in the front.
He went to start the car and it wouldn't start.
'Come on' John growled annoyedly.
It wouldn't start.
He scoffed as he finally got the engine going the growled at himself for being such a fricken idiot.
'Battery is Fucking dead' John groaned down the car to Clara. 'Looks like we're going to be a little longer than we thought'
'Just go home John. Take Harry and go home. You don't need to bring him all the way up here' Clara said as she was going through some of the paper work on her Dads dining room table whilst being glared at by Linda.
Her Dad was a stubborn mans and had been nagging Theta for weeks to sort out her will and all her other documents of paper work and old photos but she could never really be bothered.
Who could be when it came of paper work?
It was at moments like these that Clara realised she needed to be more efficient on paper work.
If anything was to happen to her then she would want to know that she had sorted things out accordingly.
'I can't. Harry needs your milk. I've only got enough in the fridge for tonight. I'm best of just coming to you any way. I can always stay tonight with you and drive your car home tomorrow so that when your ready to come back to London you have a car equipped for a baby seat' he said thinking it all through.
Clara was paying attention but at the same time was not paying attention because she had come across some interesting paper work.
'John I've got to go. I'll call your back'

'Dad... Ive found the will the solicitors are looking for. It's dated do the end of January this year. Why did she redo it?' I asked.
'Because we sold her house back at Christmas' Dave explained looking through the will and came across inheritance lists.
'Why is she getting that much? Bitch only turns up when there's something in it for her' Linda growled.
'Excuse me?' I snapped back at her as Dave flicked Linda on he leg.
'Enough. I don't need this fighting today' he growled. 'It was no secret that Mum loved Clara and to be honest who else would all this
Money and stuff go too!' Dave grumbled. 'I was her only son and Clara was her only grandchild' Dave explained justifying it but even I had no words.'That is a lot of money through Dad'
'That Gran wanted you to have. And she has left instructions that it is to go 5 ways for the great grandkids'
'5? Are you Fucking serious? One of them isn't even her kid' Linda snapped as the conversation was going to go on for hours.
Gran had left me over 90,000 pounds from her house sale and left 5 grand for each of my kids. As well as the rest of the money from the house to Dad and that wasn't a whole lot. 50,000 most.
