Chapter 149 - "Not Today..."
Clara's PoV
'Do you want to leave the house like that?' John asked with a raised eyebrow.
'Like what?' I scoffed, snapping at him.
'In that.... it's not exactly very modest. Your top is practically riding up your stomach?' He pointed out.
'Do you want to Fuck off?' I growled.
I was uncomfortable enough as it was without him judging what the hell I was wearing and how I was wearing it.
'It's just...'
'Look. Are you the size of a Fucking whale?'
'No'
'Are you sweating in these temperatures?'
'Actually yes. It's 35 degrees. Your not the only one suffering that' he pointed out.
'I'm wearing the top. I've run out of clothes. That's not my fault' I scoffed.
'Okay. Wear the top' he said with an eye roll very close to getting a serious punch.
It's literally the worst time to be pregnant in this country because it's so fricken hot. Temperatures have soared to well into the 30's every day at the moment.
'It's so hot' I complained wanting to burst into tears as John wrapped his arms around me in comfort which didn't actually help with how hot and sweaty he was - but at least he could keep cool by wearing shorts. I couldn't wear shorts unless in my own home because they ride up my butt.
'I know. But this will all be over soon and you'll have a baby to make you feel better?' He hummed with a kiss to the top of my forehead.
'Easy for you to bloody say. Your not pregnant' I growled but it wasn't a forceful growl. It wasn't his fault.
It was this bloody baby. It was making itself far to at home and comfortable.

'Well?'
'Well. Baby still needs to move a little more yet. It's not quite ready to see us yet' Alex hummed making me groan loudly.
'What? What is this baby playing at?' I pouted.
'It's very rare that babies play the game you want them to play' she chuckled. 'It's due today. But we should probably come to an agreed induction date in case you don't come too on your own'
'How bloody long will that be?' I mumbled.
'It's up to you. We can let you go up to 14 days over due before we induce. So potentially the 10th of August?'
'Are you kidding? It's the 30th of July. I was told my baby would be born today. Why do I have to wait?' I whined.
'There are things you can do to try and induce labour' she explained.
'Like?'
'Well spicy foods have been known to work in the past' she shrugged.
'Why can't I just have the baby toady?' I complained with a whine again.
'Because we don't want to have to c section if we can help it. It does seem a little odd given your history of labour that you are going to go overdue but every baby and every pregnancy is always very different' she explained.
- - -
'Oh come on. Cheer up. It'll be over soon'
'Well I want it to be over now' I complained like a child as the waiter in the restaurant we had gone to for lunch bought our lunches.
John had tried to persuade me to have a curry but I hate spicy foods.
So a garden salad it was.
'It'll be soon I promise: she said she won't let you go over 14 days overdue so the 10th of August we'll go in for induction. You'll probably go into labour before then'
'I doubt it: you heard what she said. The baby isn't even facing the right way yet'

'Look Daddy. Look what uncle Richard builted in his back garden' Poppy shouted grabbing John's hand upon arrival at Lilly's.
'And what's that?' John hummed as he went into the back garden to see a giant ball pit filled with multicoloured balls.
In all fairness it looked quite fun but wasn't exactly something that I could join in with.
They were at Richards because they had the padding pool out as well as the sprinkler on. It was so hot that there was no point keeping them inside - unless your Avia and your sat in the kitchen with a nose in a book.
'No baby today then?' Lilly smirked.
'No. stupid kid hadn't even moved enough to be born yet' I said with an eye roll going back to the house to change into something more comfortable for the afternoon.
I'm home now so I can wear what I like.
'Could be worse. Could have been early' she hummed.
'Think I would rather have that right now just saying' I mumbled.
The afternoon wasn't so bad but mainly because I was sat in the garden and didn't lift a finger.
John and Richard had the kids occupied all afternoon in the paddling pool and the ball pool and then they got the BBQ out in the evening which was nice.
Avia invited her friend Daisy over and she bought her little brother Alfie (who is 4) so he played with the boys.
Then the kids were so exhausted that they were whacked out at half past 8.
Evie stayed at Richards because she has a room there and so did Henry because they have a bunk bed in Ollie room for when Henry needs to stay.
Avia had her friend Daisy then go home and was in bed herself by 9. It was nice actually and so the only kids we had were Poppy and her.

'Move away from me john' I scoffed.
'You heard what she said. There's ways you can try to induce labour... I'm just trying to help out' he hummed awkwardly.
'Well I don't want too. I'm not in the mood and it's too hot and sweaty' I complained.
'Sex is always hot and sweaty. That's the point of it... burns calories.
'I'll tell you something. I am not having any more kids after this one. I am so done with being pregnant' I growled turning the other way - well - at least trying to turn the other way - the bump makes that very difficult.
