Chapter 41 - "Skinny Dipping..."
Clara's PoV
'How come your already up?' I asked stealing a piece of cut up Apple from his plate and started munching on it, leaning over the island where he was sitting reading the paper.
It was amazing the things that you can demand when you've got money - or when your a tourist. He had the daily mail delivered here everyday. I mean it's all a load of rubbish anyway but he likes reading it.
The poor paper boy probably hates us.
'Couldn't sleep and you looked too peaceful to wake up so I figured I would just make a quick breakfast. What do you want this morning?'
'Hmm. Eggs. Scrambled eggs and toast. Something simple'
'We could go out? We've not been out for breakfast yet?' He suggested.
'Nah. I quite enjoy having my breakfast here. It's more like being at home - except there's no fight here over the tomato sauce' I smirked.
'Good point' he laughed, grabbing a saucepan and got started on the scrambled eggs, whipping them up in a bowl as I browsed the headlines.
'It's all just a load of rubbish in here these days? Why do I care that some Hollywood idiot has been spotted on the beach in the nuddy? Why should I care?' I scoffed.
'People care' he shrugged. 'I need to call Richard later, not for kids for the business. 'Need to make sure everything is okay in the crisis' John said.
'Hmm. Okay. I think I might have a bath you know. God this relaxing thing is weird. To be able make my own decisions and not have to base them off of what other people want. Even shopping was weird'
'Oo. About that. We're out of beer so I need to get some. Did you want to come to the supermarket with me or stay here?'
'I think I'll stay here and have that bath. Can you get me some ice cream though? It's so hot around here all I want to do is eat ice cream by the gallon' I requested, shuffling my bum off the wooden stool and landed with flat feet on the ground.
'Okie dokie. Beer and ice cream? Sounds like quite the combo' he smirked, picking up his keys and pushing the plate in front of me. 'Don't forget about the toast in the toaster' he laughed running out leaving me on my own.

I feel way too relaxed around here. It's going to seriously hit when we have to go home and go back into a normal routine. The idea of screaming kids and snotty noses sounds awful but great at the same time.
Since Lucie died things have changed in John - I like the changes but he's so much less enthusiastic... Probably the anti depressants. Put him on a high and then make him go low. I thought they were supposed to balance him out but they don't really seem to do that.
Either way he is a different man to whom I first married. A different man to who I married over 10 years ago now. But then I'm probably a different woman.
In all fairness when we met and married the first time - he was a boy and I was just a girl.
'Oh here we go... Yes Evie what can I do for you?' I grumbled down the phone.
'Mummy. Why hasn't Daddy paid for my riding? Mine and Avia's lessons have been cut off. Why?' She cried down the phone.
'This is supposed to be Mummy and Daddy's honeymoon. Your not supposed to be distracting us. Take it up with Lilly'
'I did but Daddy hasn't paid it' she whined again.
'Well call Daddy then' I said really cursing the day that we actually gave Evie a mobile phone.
God that day was a wonderful day and awful at the same time. I swear I've taken the damn thing away from her more times than she's actually had it.
We agreed unanimously together that she could have one for her 9th birthday since everyone else in her class had a phone and since we bought Avia one for her 9th birthday. But it was the biggest regret ever. She doesn't leave us alone or put the damn thing down.
'I'll ask him when he comes back from the shops okay?' I said hanging up on the crying 9 year old.
I couldn't be dealing with the drama right now. I don't want it ruining my peace and calm.
So I went into the bathroom and looked at the huge bath tub and started running warm water in it, and opened the bifold doors that led onto a lovely balcony in this villa.
I thought about the bath tub and then looked out and realised we have our very own hot tub just outside connected to a swimming pool, so I turned the bubbles on and decided to jump in the pool.

'What you doing?'
'Catching up on a little light reading' I said lifting up my 1000 page book for him to look at at as evidence.
I was lounged out on the sun bed, book in hand sunglasses on my head getting quite the tan, as he stood over the top of me.
'That's... Definitely light reading' he chuckled, sitting at the end of the sun bed. 'Wanna go swimming?'
'If you like' I grinned slapping the book shut and threw my sunglasses on the sun bed as he took my hand and pulled me into the pool.
I jumped in, splashing him dramatically and swam towards him, jumping up on his waist and wrapping my arms around his neck, as he unclasped the top of my bikini.
'Skinny dipping? Really?' I scoffed, pushing his swimming trunks away and smirking.
'Why not? It's our own pool. And there's no one else around is there?' He laughed, gripping the bottom of my lip with his teeth and started up a slow kiss.
We continued to kiss for a few minutes where hands roamed when I had a thought back to a phone call.
'John?'
'Hmm?' He sighed resting his mouth on my neck leaving marks up and down my neck and chest.
'Evie phoned earlier in hysterics. Why hasn't her equestrian lessons been paid for?'
'Huh?'
'She said that both her and Avia's lessons hadn't been paid for this week. Why?'
'Oh for fucks sake. The bank said they wouldn't cut my account off' he whined climbing out of the pool stark bullock naked.
'Where you going?' I whined.
'To phone Richard'
