Chapter 42 - "Night of Torture..."
Clara's PoV
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my clothes, before heading back into my room to change into something comfortable.
The good thing about this place is that it is like 35 degrees so all I need to put on is some Jean shorts and a flowing top that drapes down off one shoulder with a vest top or short sleeved top on underneath - and I'm in the comforts of my own home and on my honeymoon so bra less is acceptable - and grabbed my book again.
I figured I could move inside now though since it was lunch time and even I would burn in that kind of heat.
So I took a seat on the sofa, just started to relax when John appeared with his laptop, and a pile of paper work at the kitchen table that was connected to the lounge, a whole bunch of wires to charge electrical equipment and continued to talk working jargon.
I couldn't believe he had bought a pile of work paperwork on our honeymoon but then his life is all about his job so I can't think why it shocked me so much.
The only plus side was that he was wearing just his shorts and didn't have a shirt or anything on - so it was quite a sight for me. What was even better was that he hadn't even put his contacts in, so his hair was a fluffy mess and he was wearing his glasses which was so hot.
I couldn't concentrate on my book now though because he was babbling away to Richard on the phone then turned to me.
'Can I borrow your bank card?'
'Why?'
'The one to your savings... Well our savings?' He asked, and I wasn't even sure that I had bought it with me.
I rarely carry it, but I did have it in my purse and handed it over. I think I only picked it up as a back up in case we needed some money while we were away. 'Why?'
'The payments have bounced for school fees and Dance class, and Henry's football club, and the equestrian lessons. Lord knows why?'
'Have you not got the money? Tell me your not broke?' I scoffed.
'No. No. No. Don't panic. You know a few months back when all my bank accounts got hacked - looks like it's happened again and someone's got into the work account this time. If there wasn't a crisis before - there is now'
I just rolled my eyes handing him the bank card and moved into the bedroom to continue reading my book I peace.

'Right; that's it. Goodbye Richard. We're going out' I yelled down the phone hanging up.
'Clara?'
'It's a joint company John. Your both the boss. He can deal with this crisis on his own. His name is on all of the documents' I pointed out getting rather frustrated.
All I wanted to do was go out for my fancy meal that I had, had booked for weeks now leading up too the holiday.
'If I don't sort this crisis out then we won't even be able to afford the fancy meal' he scoffed picking up the phone, and went to dial before I snatched it out of his hand and threw it on the sofa.
'Get up. And get into the damn suit. I want fancy squid and expensive steak' I whined. 'For once I want to be one of those fancy rich snobs and this is the only opportunity in going to have go do it' I pouted. 'Richard I'm sure is more than capable of dealing with a crisis'
'This is his first major crisis though. This is the first time he's had to deal with a money crisis or problem on his own'
'I don't really care' I said rolling my eyes. 'I want steak' I said making sure to enunciate the letters in "steak"
'Fine. Go and get dressed'

I did get my fancy dinner and about two hours of John's attention before we were back at the villa and he was back on the phone again.
I rolled my eyes as I changed from my dress into my pyjama shorts and top and removed all my make up and contact lenses.
I climbed into bed at least 2 hours before John did - and when he did finally join me in the bed his phone was attached to his side and he was still ferociously tapping out emails to people and angrily scowling every now and again with the odd mumble.
'Do you want to find out what I am like these days with a serious lack of sleep?' I grumbled as the light shon in his face from the brightness of the tiny screen.
It showed up facial features that I didn't want to see including a few wrinkles I was going to forget I had seen because if he thought he was getting old then Lord help us all.
We're still hearing about the fact that he found a grey hair last month - and he hasn't stopped going on about it since.
All I kept telling him was that it was one grey hair - but of course one grey hair meant that it had to be got rid of.
As he picked out one - he started finding others and before I knew it he was hunched over the bathroom sink massaging brown hair dye into he is scalp, which I later had to wash out of the sink and all of his clothes.
He had made a right hash of it and quite honestly made his hair colour a lot worse than what it was. He is not anywhere near grey yet.
'Your not taking this very seriously' he scoffed laying down and staring at the ceiling because I could feel the tension rolling off of his body.
'How much of my savings did you dip into?'
'Couple of grand. I'll replace it I promise' he said but in all fairness it's not like I've never taken money from him.
'Are you ever going to sleep?'
'Nope. It's going to be an all night crisis I think' he sighed.
