Chapter 145 - "Best Party Ever Part II..."
Clara's PoV
As soon as we walked in with handfuls of stuff Poppy was dancing away without any shoes on waiting impatiently for us to check in so that she could go and play.
Her and Henry and Ollie were pretty impatient together and all I could hear was Ollie begging Richard to go in.
'One minute buddy' he laughed taking his shoes off. 'Mate why is Henry wearing a pink shirt?'
'Don't even ask. Something to do with matching Poppy's dress. I didn't get it either' John huffed taking now Ollie and Henrys shoes and putting them together seeing as they were the same shoe size and gave them the all clear to go and play.
'What do we do?' Evie scoffed.
'Go and play. Your only 9. Your still a kid' I hummed instructing her to go and play but all her answer was that she had no one to play with.
That was true. In 20 minutes the whole place will be full of three, four and five year olds.
'I'm only 9 for 6 more weeks and then I will be 10' she scoffed offended that John had called her a child.

'Chicken. I want chicken' Henry said bouncing up and down on the bouncy castle where I was just supervising but John was on it with him.
All I could hear was his asking for food.
'Out monkeys. Come here' John smirked grabbing Henrys waist and Ollie foot then dragged them around the bouncy castle where they were having a wail of a time.
It made John think about how if Lissy had survived that she would be one and a half now... and that she would be having fun. Then he thought about how he wished that this baby and Henry had been closer in age - and how he hates to admit it - but he would quite like another boy.
'I'm hungry uncle John' Ollie said poking his stomach impatiently.
'Your like an eating machine' John smirked.
'Look Mummy. Daddy gave me cheese sticks' Poppy says happily running away and back into the play area.
She was having a whale of a time.
I'm just so glad that she was eating and that her appetite had returned again.
Ever since the end of the chemo she had started to gain a little weight.
Not loads because she was underweight before but at least enough to be like an average 4 year old.
'You checked that right?'
'Pretty much everything here is okay for her to eat' John laughed as I decided I might go and chat to some of the Mums.
As a teacher at the school I crossed over with sine of the Mums who have a kid in Henrys or Poppy's class that might have an older sibling in year 3 or a sibling that is older that I may have taught before now.
'Would you sit down Clara' Lilly huffed.
'Oh Hun your going to drop any day now. It's time for you to sit down and put your feet up' Mellisa laughed one of the Mums whose daughter Lacey was best friends with Poppy and had a daughter in year 4.
'I'm not due for another 7 weeks. It's the weirdest thing to be this pregnant' I hummed as in clutched my stomach - the baby was kicking again.
Thankfully this kid works on my time clock and doesn't really kick or sit up all night unless John and I have had sex in which case if generally wakes the nugget up.
'Oo. Can I feel? I haven't felt a baby kicking in so long' lilly squeaked sitting on one of the other chairs and I nodded my head.
There wasn't anyone that hadn't felt this baby kick. They were all over the bump like a rash at work and as for the kids - it was like my body wasn't even my own anymore.
'Oo. Is it kicking time?' John smirked crouching down to join in the party.
'When is it due?'
'After my birthday. The baby is going to be born on July 29th' Evie said happily. 'But I want it to be the 27th. I think it would be cool to say I can share a birthday with my little Half brother/sister'
'Half?' Melissa asked.
'Don't ask. It's pretty complicated' I hummed looking over at Poppy and hoisted myself off the chair so that I could grab her hand. 'John pop into the adventure zone and tell people its time for cake and food' I said positioning the candles the way I wanted them on the frozen castle.
It was pure white like the castle that Elsa builds in the film which Poppy had been quite excited about.
The only downside to the cake was that it was butter free because poppy can't have butter but our kids don't even seem to notice anymore.
Probably because when I make cakes now I just make them without butter.
