Chapter 169 - "A Very Rainy Day..."
Clara's PoV
'When will it stop raining?' Poppy asked looking out the window onto the front garden where her bike was sitting waiting for her to play on.
'When it does. I don't control the weather' I pointed out as Henry cam blundering in to the lounge dressed up in his 3rd outfit for the day.
'I'm Spiderman' he announced.
'Yeah you look it bud' I laughed.
'Is it lunchtime yet?'
'You've just had cereal' I scoffed.
'But I'm hungry?' She scoffed in a whine and followed me into the kitchen.
We all know what kids are like when they are bored and she was doing my nut in already and it's only 10am.
'Your not hungry your just bored' I grumbled.
To be fair we have a huge back garden so when the weather is good they all disappear out there and you don't see them for hours.
Today however wasn't one of those days because it had been pouring rain and you could just tell by the darkness of the sky that it was going to rain all day.
'When will Daddy be home?'
'Considering the fact that he had only had left the driveway in thinking a good few hours yet' I hummed.
'Can I play in the rain?'
'No. go and find something to do. There is plenty of rooms and toys in this house. Go and use them' I said not in a shout but in an annoyed voice.
If was probably a bit harsh but she needed to leave me alone.
'Gah. Don't get older Harry. You might become annoying' I laughed kissing his tiny forehead and placing him on the lounge carpet for tummy time.
I wanted him to be able to roll around and be quite strong because these were all things that we made sure we did with Henry as a baby and he is an energetic little toddler.
He wasn't really even a toddler anymore. It seemed like yesterday he turned 3 but he would be 4 soon.
'Will you take me to the library?' Avia suddenly asked opening the lounge door interrupting mine and Harry's wriggle time.
I like to lay on the floor with him and poke his nose or play peek a boo. It tends to get a cure baby giggle out of him.
'I would but I'd have to load up on everyone being the only adult here and I really can't be bothered today'
'Fine' she huffed falling into the sofa. 'I'm bored then'
'There's plenty to do Avia. You've got rooms full of stuff to do' I pointed out.
'But I don't want to do that' she grumbled. 'Oo, can we make cookies?'
'Ugh. Do we have too? I really can't be bothered with the mess either' I huffed.
'But cookies?' She whined
'Fine... we can make cookies' I said rolling my eyes. 'I really hope this day is over soon' I grumbled in a moan.

'Mummy it's not raining anymore' Poppy said with a squeak as she jumped down from the stool in the kitchen throwing flour and sugar everywhere in the process. 'Can I go and play in my treehouse?'
'Sure' I grumbled looking around me at the mess.
How on earth can and three year old and a 5 year old make so much mess? Like seriously? How is it possible?
There was flour plastered up all the walls and sugar over all the floors plus Poppy had eaten a mountain of chocolate chip cookies and they weren't even her ones.
That would be fricken eventful tonight when she has the squits.
'Shit you've been busy?' Lilly grinned as she dropped Ollie to the floor and he immediately made a bee line to the cookie cutter in the shape of a space ship and started cutting them everywhere.
He was actually easier to cook and bake with than my own kids.
'I hate the fricken rain' I grumbled.
'Oh yeah. The weather has been pretty crap today' she hummed taking a drink out the fridge completely helping herself and then sitting at the kitchen table.
'What exactly are you doing here?'
'Oh Ollie and I have been to the museum today haven't we? You loved it didn't you?'
'I got to see spaceships and the sun and I even gotted to see what an earthquake feelsded like' he explained.
'That sounds awesome'
'And show Auntie Clara what you bought from the gift shop' Lilly encouraged.
'Wow? Is that a spaceship?' I chuckled as he jumped down and ran off to show Henry who actually I hadn't seen since he ran off covered in flour.
I just assumed that he would have covered the whole of the upstairs in flour.

'Is it a man thing that when they smell food they appear?' I smirked at Lilly as the front door opened with Richard and John making tracks at the same time that Ollie and Henry came blunder blustering in from the garden.
'Yeah. Probably. Oh is dinner ready?' He smirked as he eyed up the table and gasped. 'It's not Christmas' he smirked.
'Yeah well it's been raining all day which meant that I had lots of willing and unwilling helpers to help me out' I laughed.
'Blimey. There's everything here from chicken to parsnips and pigs in blankets' Richard laughed.
'Don't forget the Yorkshire puddings' Ollie said with a little giggle.
