Chapter 97 - "Deep Exhaustion Part II..."
Clara's PoV
'What the Fuck is going on?' I huffed as I ran down the corridor and followed the signs as Lilly told me too.
Thankfully I spotted her quite easily amongst those that were in the waiting room and went towards her.
The minute I got near her she looked at me apologetically and started explaining things.
'John was driving the car with Richard and the boys to beavers with Evie. They were going to stop and pick Avia up from the stables on the way but they ran out of petrol' she explained.
'Why does this sound like some sort of story book story? What's this got to do with coming down here?' I asked confused not in the mood.
I had just about persuaded Poppy to get out of the bed and go and talk to some of the other kids when this happened.
Then I had to tell her I had to leave for her for a little bit so now she was reluctant to go anywhere again.
'They called the AA but before they could get there Evie had collapsed. She had a seizure and quite a nasty one - Richard said that it went on for a good 10 minutes on and off'
'What about John? He'll know he handled her seizures all the time' I said assured the whole situation had been dealt with so I could kiss her on the forehead and go back upstairs.
Unfortunately not.
'No. He walked away - then I went to talk some sense into him and did some shouting and then he passed out. He's severely malnourished and exhausted. He's an idiot really'
'What? Where the hell is he?'
'Down on the ED. They're checking him over but he just hasn't eaten in days. I'm sure he'll be fine' Lilly mumbled.
'What about Evie? What's happened to her? Where has she gone?'
'Oh she's down here. Richard is with her now' Lilly explained as I ran into the corridor and towards the children's ward where numerous doctors were all around my 9 year old.
'Is she okay?'
'She's had a fit what the Fuck do you think?' Richard snapped.
'Who are you?'
'Her mother' I snapped walking straight into the room and past Richard.
'Oh no you don't. I'm her father' Richard yelled following in.
'What exactly happened? She hasn't had a fit in months. She was doing so well' I complained.
'This doesn't look like it was strictly a fit. It was a fit of course but she's susceptible to them which means anything else to her could cause this' the doctor explained.
'She had an epileptic fit... that's all. She doesn't even need to be in here' I mumbled not sure what to do with myself.
I needed to be here for Evie because she is my daughter too and she isn't well but at the same time I need to be with Poppy because she's in far more of a critical state.
Evie has fits all the time so she's a lower priority.
I also needed to see John and see what problems he's causing now.
'Have you ever considered an operation to help Evie - one that might help with the fitting?' The doctor asked as Richards eyes lit up.
He just wanted to take the problem away but it wasn't that simple.
John and I had looked into it when she turned 8 because she was at the prime age to experiment but I don't want my daughter to be a guinea pig.
And either way Evie would have something to say about it and there's no way she would want anyone prodding and poking inside her head.
We handle the problem as it comes but maybe we had taken our eye off of the ball or off of her for sometime and had missed some key signs.
First of all I should be keeping a closer eye on her diet and I don't even check that she takes her medications anymore, thirdly I should have checked what she was doing because nay exposure to flashing lights or stress can cause these fits.
'There's a fix?' Richard asked.
'No there's not. There is no way Evie is having any kind of operation at all and that is my final say on the matter' I snapped walking out of the room.

It took me a good 10 minutes to wander the hospital and find the ED.
When I did find it however it was as wasted trip and I might have not bothered.
'He's what?'
'Mr Smith has requested no visitors. I'm sorry but there's nothing I can do or tell you' the nurse explained.
'As his wife and next of kin I think I have the right to be told anything I want. You March in there and tell him if he doesn't agree to see me that I'll bloody cut all his clothes in half' I growled.
The nurse wasn't up for a fight as neither was I. I had too many other pressing things to worry about.
'He said n--'
I didn't even wait to hear the end of that sentence before bounding into the room and raising an eyebrow.
'No visitors? Seriously? What if I was Avia' I gritted.
'That face is why I don't want any visitors' he said nervously.
'Oh trust me you won't be able to avoid me forever. You may as well get the wrath over and done with whilst we're in public. I can murder you when we're on our own' I scoffed.
'You didn't need to call security' John said rolling his eyes and sitting up. 'They're discharging me anyway' he said with a sigh and rolled eyes at the same time.
'Good. If means you can get in the Fucking car and we'll be talking this over' I yelled at him as even one of the nurses winced.
'Is Evie okay?'
'Oh yeah she's fine. She's just fitting and vomiting all over the place in the hospital while you can barely stand because you haven't slept or eaten in a week'
'Oh yeah easier said than done. I'm the one that's bloody sat with Poppy most of the week'
'Oh don't play with me John just get in the car' I growled slamming my door.
He didn't get in the passenger seat.
He sat in the back .
