Chapter 89 - "Exploration..."

Clara's PoV

'Exploration. That's what we need? Even if you don't think it' John said as he leant against the bathroom doorway watching me wretch into the toilet bowl.

I let him drone on and on about his plans for the day while I spluttered and then had to do something to shut him up.

'What about me looks like I need to explore?' I scoffed staring at myself in the mirror.

Good god I was a mess. Hair stringy, pale as a Fucking ghosts, face spotty. I looked disgusting.

'We all need adventure Clara' he sighed flushing the toilet only just about touching the flush as if it was poison.

'Not me. Not today. What i need is a bath and some sleep. How can you even be this chirpy at 5 o clock in the morning?' I growled.

'Sorry. I'm still on like London time zone and then I went to Chicago time zone so my sleep pattern is fucked' he sighed. 'Plus there is an irritating 4 year old that squirms an awful lot in her sleep sharing the bed with us at the moment' he pointed out. 'Sleep is near impossible'

'Huh? I can't say I notice her moving too much' I shrugged.

'That's because you sleep like the Fucking dead' he said rolling his eyes. 'Anyway. How about we hit up the observatory today? It'll be fun? You can even sit in the cafe if you don't want to come around all the little areas' he said. 'Or sit by the bathrooms? Whichever suits your fancy' he shrugged as I pushed past him out of the bathroom and back into the bedroom.

I grabbed my hoodie of his and threw it on then pushed open the balcony doors.

'What are you doing?'

'I need air. I'm all sticky hot and sweaty from vomiting. Then I need a shower and then I need to go back to sleep'

'That's good. You can sleep in the car. The car is the best place for sleep. The observatory is a 40 minute drive' he said with begging eyes.

'For gods sake fine' I sighed. 'But the front seat is mine. I'll defiantly vomit in the back' I sighed.

'Vomiting is a good thing. You moan about it every time but it is a good thing'

'It's the only thing that is telling me this baby is okay for now so I'm actually learning to appreciate it' I said as he clutched onto my hand.

'It won't happen again'

'How can you know that? We can't know. This baby will be born in the Summer. How do we know it will even make it to the Summer? Lissy was supposed to be born in the spring and she was born in Autumn?' I pointed out.

She was born on October 2nd but wasn't actually due until March 21st. She was born far too early. I couldn't have this one the same.

'I can't speak for the future but if your actually pregnant after all this time again then you must be ready to hold a baby again. You must be ready to grow one? Otherwise you wouldn't be pregnant. It will be okay' he said kissing my forehead.

'My first scan is on the 12th of January. We have to be home for that John' I hummed.

'We will I promise. And I'll come too. I'm not missing one appointment this time' he said because he had been quite distracted when I was pregnant with lissy. Had we have noticed sooner then it might have been avoided.

'You won't forget?'

'Nope'

'God were going to spend so much bloody time in and out of hospitals' I grumbled.

'Can I see? Can I see?' Poppy squeaked as she begged to be lifted up by John so she could see through the telescope.

'Come here then' he instructed lifting her onto his shoulders so she could lean down to see through the telescope.

I could hear just how excited she was as I went to sit down on a bench and checked my phone for information of the others.

Richard had texted to say that everyone was home and a little bit jet lagged but other than that - everyone was fine and that Henry loved his bike.

We had left most of the big presents under the tree already so that when we got home they would think that Santa had left all the presents, obviously since we haven't all travelled home together we wouldn't get to see the excitement and then open all their presents.

'Henry loved the bike John. Apparently Richard had to take him out on it at half past 9 at night because he just wouldn't go to bed without trying it out' I said.

'Oh man. He opened the bike without me?' John pouted.

'They couldn't exactly hide it. It was a bloody Spider-Man bike? Wasn't easily hide able. It was obvious it was for Henry' I laughed.

'Well that sucks' he scoffed as Poppy came back and pulled John towards one of the displays whilst I went and bought the tickets for the observatory show for the pair of them.

When they came out of the show poppy was chatting away telling me all about the Stars and it was quite amazing at just four year old how she could name me all the planets in the solar system and that how we were in the galaxies of the milky way.

She had obviously been paying extra attention to the show.

We then went into the gift shop where she chose yet another teddy for her collection of teddies and a postcard she could put in the wall in her bedroom as we were redecorating all the rooms.

She was having a whole wall decorated purple and black with silver stars on it - of course now thinking about it - of this baby is a girl she'll be the one that has to share with her.

'Come on. Let's grab some dinner' I laughed.
