Chapter 146 - "Birthing Plan..."

Clara's PoV

'So. Not long now hey? God how was the big party at the weekend? You never said'

'You never asked' I groaned rolling my eyes at Nina. She was one of the year 6 teachers and was marking the final practice Sats papers before the real things next week.

'Clara I can see you peeking. Stop' she sighed picking them up and moving them.

'I just want to know'

'And you will. Next week when all the other parents know. Even then you have an advantage because they go on the staff system on Wednesday and parents Friday' she sighed.

'You'd better leave' I heard someone whisper in the staff room behind me.

I was making myself a cup of tea and looked around confused at Adrian.

'Why? I wanted to deliver the little gifty myself'

'Who the--? Danny?'

'It's alright Adrian. We're sort of friends now'

'Friends? You two?' He scoffed looking between us.

'Come on Danny. Let's go to my classroom' I suggested.

I knew he had moved to London... but I didn't think I'd be bumping into him again quite so soon. Of course you can't count this as bumping into him. He came here with intension this time.

'What are you doing here Danny? Your not supposed to be here' I scoffed.

'I heard on the street that you had a baby shower last week. I just wanted to make sure that you got your baby present in person'

'I've had loads of babies and you've never paid any attention before. You wasn't interested in Poppy and she was nearly yours' I snapped, probably more rudely than i needed too.

He was just being polite.

'I wasn't a Dad myself then was I?' He hummed with a small smirk.

'Have you had the kid?'

'No. it's a boy though. We're going to call him Charlie. I'm rather excited really. Anyway there was something else I wanted to give you'

'December? Your getting married' I laughed not sure what to think.

'Yeah. I'd really like you to come. Your all welcome. Even John, I forgive him for the whole face punching thing. And the restaurant embarrassment. Anyway. December. See you then?' He asked.

'It could still all go to shit?' Lilly pointed out thoroughly disappointed at my planning.

I've never actually gotten far enough in a pregnancy to have a plan. I mean I had an idea with what I wanted with Poppy - but it never happened. And I never had a chance to write it down anyway.

This time I wanted all natural. It was most likely the last time I was going to be pregnant - and I wanted to do something different. For a start I wanted a water birth.
