Chapter 95 - "Deep Exhaustion Part I..."
Clara's PoV
'Dude... Go to bed' Richard encouraged as John was in the kitchen obsessively organising some washing piles and filling up the dishwasher.
'I will. I will. I'll take a few hours nap when the kids are in school later'
'Or you could go now and let me take the kids to school. It's not like I'm not going that way' Richard huffed as Henry ran down the stairs looking slightly disheveled with his tie un straight and jumper dirty.
'Get back upstairs and find a clean jumper' John scoffed.
There was no way he was allowing his son to go to school when he had clothes on that were that dirty.
'I promise I'll get a nap in when they are at school' John assured Richard.

'Are you not going back to the hospital tonight?' Richard asked.
'No. I -- I don't think Poppy wants me there and Clara doesn't need me there' John hummed.
Richard knew full well that wasn't true. Of course Clara wanted him there. It just wasn't practical for him to be there all the time.
'Where exactly are we going?' Richard scoffed. 'And why am I here?'
'The boys have beavers on Wednesday evenings and Avia is at the stables so well pick her up on the way'
'Why am I here?' Evie scoffed.
'Because your too young to be left at home alone'
'I'm 9'
'Exactly'
'You leave Avia at home on her own'
'She's 11. There's a big difference' he grumbled with a yawn.
'Your still looking pretty pale John... did you actually sleep this afternoon like I told you too?'
'Yeah. Bout half an hour. I had things to do'
'Dude? You surely haven't slept properly for like 72 hours' Richard snapped.
'Yeah. Well I'll have a good 24 more hours before I go crazy then'
'Dude you can't run yourself into the ground. Your already tired because your donating blood you can't let yourself wear out' Richard said with rolled eyes.
'I'm fine' he said with a scoff.
Richard rolled his eyes not having any of it.
However the group got stuck in a bit of a bind when John wasn't even driving straight.
He was so exhausted that he wasn't even paying his full attention to the road.
'John? Oi. John' Richard snapped sitting up as John completely diverted off course of the road and looked up.
'Shit' John snapped as Richard quickly leant over and took the wheel for a nano second but that nano second wasn't quick enough.
Thankfully it was nothing serious other than the fact that the car quickly came to a short and dead stop in the middle of nowhere.
They no longer live in the hustle and bustle of London - thankfully otherwise they would have held up all the traffic. Instead they live in the countryside where it takes a good 45 minute drive to get into town.
So there was no petrol stations for at least a 30 minute walk - thus they had to cal a recovery van.
- - -
'Bloody hell. I knew you shouldn't have been driving' Richard scoffed as the pair waited for the removal company to come and help the car back on the road.
'Wait a second - this isn't my fault. We've ran out fuel. How is that down to me?'
'Well or you had been a bit more organised then you would have know we were out of fuel? You would have filled up or we would have Fucking taken my car'
Thankfully Richard had used his initiative to call Lilly to go and get Avia from the stables so she didn't have to freeze to death waiting for someone to come and get her whilst the rest were stuck in the forest.
'Daddy it's cold' Ollie complained pulling on Richard jacket who pulled his own jacket off and wrapped it around Ollie and Henry.
'John? Look alive' Richard snapped throwing his hands in front of John's face but he wasn't. John was so tired he could barely keep his eyes open. 'For gods sake go and have a nap in the car'
'Well that isn't the answer is it?' John snapped.
'No. none of this is the answer but it's happened. So go and sit in the Fucking car temporarily' Richard growled as Evie squeaked unable to find words.
Both the med turned around and watched it in like a slow motion thing.
Both men were Evie's Dad. So both men were shocked as it happened.
Evie hadn't had fits in months.
She had a pretty bad one about a year ago but other than that she hadn't had one since the accident and had been doing so well.
However right now both men watched the 9 year old stiff up and collapse to the ground convulsing pretty badly.
'She's having a for John? Seriously snap into action' Richard yelled running towards Evie a little more with it than John and crouched down to her. 'Shush. It's alright Evie. Your okay' Richard assured her as she continued to shake and thankfully knew what to do.
Since he had been looking after Evie a lot more he had brushed up on his epilepsy knowledge. It was coming in useful in this case.
'Stay back boys. Go and get in the car' Richard instructed as the Orange AA van turned up at the side of the road with the much needed petrol.
Richard didn't know what to do.
Fortunately for them the men had a blanket with them.
'She's still fitting. What do we do John?'
'We let her ride it out. She hasn't had one in so long that this could be a big one'
'Should we call an ambulance?' Richard asked looking up at John for a nano second before he looked down at Evie.
The fitting had slowed but not stopped completely which is what made Richard think that maybe he should call an ambulance.
'I'm calling an ambulance. We can't just leave her like this. She's fitting like crazy here' Richard snapped but John had walked away.
