Dog Days Are Over - Florence and the Machine

[ Narrator ]

"My wife... She was... So many things."

Tyler thought back to all the time they'd spent together. Which was a lot. Thousands of endless hours together. Thousands of hours just sitting and enjoying each other's presence. Thousands of adventures he never would've had without her. Thousands of kisses and a thousand more hugs. He missed that now. Her hugs.

He thought back to when they first met, freshman year.

"Large pepperoni?" He'd never felt so star struck. Especially never by another person's beauty. She smiled and took it from him. He watched as she walked away, then came back with some money and a pen. He took the money and counted it. "Uh, you can keep this 20." She blinked at him as if she were breaking from a trance and hummed. "The pizza, it's only $20. You gave me $40."

"I know. The other $20 is a tip."

"That's a big tip."

"Well... Maybe you can repay me with a date. Here's my number."

He remembered how she'd wake him up every day.

Her delicate fingers dragged over her husband's face. She dragged her pointer find over his nose and down over his soft lips for a moment before leaning in to kiss him. Tyler's eyes slowly opened, squinting at the sunlight. She giggled and bit her lip. "Good morning husband."

He sighed and hugged her waist. "Good morning wife..."

He couldn't forget all the dates they had shared. He couldn't forget his favorite, where they shared their first kiss.

"Don't! Don't you dare Tyler!" She laughed, running away from him. He ran after her with a handful of snow. She squealed as he grabbed her. He didn't shove the snow in her face though, he dropped it. Tyler picked her up and spun her around until he fell on his back. She gasped and quickly turned around to make sure he was okay.

He remembered how her y/e/c eyes seemed to sparkle in the sunlight. "Are you okay?" She asked desperately. His body moved on it's own, leaning up and kissing her. The young couple shared a long kiss before pulling away. They stared at each other for a moment before she pushed him back down into the snow and reconnected their lips.

He especially couldn't forget how afraid she was of clowns.

The two walked through the haunted house, pointing out how dumb it was so far. Until they were pushed into a circus portion. Three clowns walked out, all of them screaming. Y/n quickly hugged Tyler, crying into his shirt. The actors all backed up and Tyler thanked them. He helped her through the rest of the haunted house.

She continued to cry into his shirt. They got out and quickly got back into their car. She sniffled and wiped her eyes. "I'm really sorry. I didn't know there would be clowns."

"Don't be sorry. We're all afraid of something."

He would never let go of how stubborn she was towards everyone but him.
