The campfire was nice.
Over the cold night, it felt warmer than too hot or less hot.
"I can't believe you brought them with you two as well..."
That was the only thing Amity said when the twins brought Jerbo and Viney with them both.
"Don't be rude, Chase!" Edric whined when he covered Jerbo's ears.
Jerbo laughed, as if that'd stop him from hearing anything.
"Well, that's Chase for you." Emira sighed.
"Huh, Aeson, why aren't you sitting between Lee and Chase??" Viney wondered.
"This one will get mad," Willow said pointing at Boscha.
"Hey..." Boscha frowned.
"And those two are dating so it'd be weird doing that." Willow added.
Amity laughed and pulled Luz close to her.
Luz flinched by the sudden pull.
"Which means 'stepmom' doesn't have to get in the way of us." Amity said between her laugh.
Willow grew a nerve.
"I am not your 'stepmother'." She hissed before taking her water bottle for a quick drink.
"Third wheeler it is then." Amity scoffed.
Everyone fell into a fit of laughter.
The night was very young.
How nice it was to be like that.
...
Luz sighed and went inside her tent.
'Even after all those times, I've been a nuisance... They still...'
Her thoughts were putting her down as she sat there frowning, staring at her hands before sighing.
That's when she felt shock in her spine.
Nope, not electrocution but fright by a sudden jump behind her.
"A-Amity?!?" She stammered before getting hushed by her.
Luz pursed her lips shut as Amity shut the tent.
"Why are you here? Did everyone decide to go to sleep now?" She whispered.
Amity stared at her in total silence over the darkness inside the tent before whispering, "metaphorically speaking they did."
Luz frowned shoving her.
"C'mon, be serious here!" She whined.
Amity laughed pulling her down with her.
They laid there on one of the camping beds they brought.
"Amity..." Luz mumbled.
"Luzy, I'm tired." Amity said.
"But I'm not," Luz puffed.
Amity snickered before running her cold fingers behind the back of Luz's neck.
It sent a cold shiver to Luz.
"That's cold!! Your hands are cold!! Why are they so cold!? Stop that!?!"
