(You looked so good in green, I hope you're well.)
As Sophie begun to transmit into her memory log, she noticed a sharp contrast from her memories before her first day at Foxfire, and those before. There was a new color.
Back with her human family, teaching colors to Sophie was hard the first few times. They would show her a labeled chart, then one without labels. But she said grey for two colors. One was labeled green.
Sophie accepted it and moved on, though sometimes it was hard to tell if a lampost was green or grey. Was this green? The color she was just now seeing? The fresh, soothing shade of the grass outside, the leaves Iggy had refused!
She naturally rushed downstairs to tell Grady and Edaline, hoping they would have the answers, instead of brushing it off as something resulting from her human life.
"Grady? Edaline," Sophie called out. "I have something important to ask you!"
Edaline poked her head into the dining room, cascading auburn red waves swinging.
"Is this a sitting down kind of question honey," Edaline inquired carefully. Sophie only shrugged, clutching her teal memory log tight to her chest.
"This," she says, gesturing to a projection to the fields outside, "Is green." Edaline nodded slowly, a concerned expression adorning her features. Grady just looked confused.
"Look, I've never seen the color before this morning," Sophie stated. Grady and Edaline started to gush, excited voices crashing out the sound of each others words.
"Honey, who did you see just before the color appeared."
"Think carefully," Grady interjected.
She had. It came down to a sort of frame by frame, ruling out odd blues.
"Keefe Sencen."
Edaline's celebratory flow of cheer was much different than Grady's silence.
"Are you sure?"
(Just some Grady V Keefe crack I wanted to post to make up for my absence. I have one -yes one, it's longer- story I need to type up, so enjoy this filler. Give me requests please! Inspiration is harder when you've reused a ton of settings.)
