(Might delete and/or edit later. I heard a lyric in invisible string (taylor swift) "she said I looked like an american singer" and I had to get this down. just imagine it. Also, no. I have no idea what person I'm in either. I really need to sleep.)

Sophie sitting at the base of her fountain/statue in Atlantis, a little older, with a haircut and new clothing style ( think ponytail, long bangs, skinny black cargo pants, a baggy hoodie, all her rings/bracelets- she ditched the necklaces)

She has her right knee pulled up on the ledge, her other leg extended, and her forehead resting on her knee, hands kind of clasped in front to keep her leg up

She's thinking about everything she did, the lines she crossed, how she ventured into a morally grey area to defeat the Neverseen

Sophie bites her lip, cringing a little. Her eyes are closed, and her eyelids sort of squinch. She draws her head back, and lifts her hands, looking at the backs and palms, thinking:

These are hands that have killed

a little kid comes over, a human, because defeating the Neverseen involved integrating societies, who tugs at her sleeve, and asks:

"Are you the superhero up there?"

Her heart pangs, and she swallows back a cry

And she says, ignoring the tight pain in her chest

"No. No I'm not."

She gets up slowly and walks away, the kid gazing after her as she leaves.

When she gets home, she locks her door, sliding down to sit with her back against it, both legs pulled to her chest

Her breaths are coming in overwhelming gasps, deep yet shallow, and fast. There's a suffocating pain within her, and her eyes start to burn. But she can't let herself cry.

Until something in her snaps, and she sobs, messy, screaming weeping as she gulps air through her tears

Sophie pounds the floor with her fists, and cries until she's weak as the wildflowers woven to make up her carpet. She falls asleep, empty.

Because heroes didn't kill. And if they did, they would regret it.

But Sophie didn't.

She didn't regret it one bit. In fact, she didn't feel guilty . . . at all.
