It started when Tam began to sulk. Though Tam was always sulking in his moody, emo way. Slinking around the shadows even more than usual. Of course, Glimmer was the only one to notice. Rubbing her sparkly cat statue for luck, Glimmer walked over to Tam's particular corner, plopping down in an armchair.
"Tammy," Glimmer launched into the one-sided conversation.
"Don't." Tam didn't even look up, bangs not shifting a bit.
"Tam, I know somethings up. Normally, you have a cold, annoyed frown, but today you have a frustrated, depressed frown! Weird is my forte, and you are acting weird." When Tam neglected to respond, Glimmer continued. "You were heavily reminded of Linh. Gisela tried to be funny and instead scarred you for life. Trix tried to screw you." The last suggestion was Tam's breaking point-or more of a bend.
"No."
But Glimmer had noticed how Tam tugged his bangs when she said 'heavily missed.' "Oh my unmapped stars. You're pining! Fintan always said love was a curse that drives you to hate everything. You're in love!"
"Sure." Tam usually wouldn't even respond to her epiphanies!
"Are they pretty? They're probably brave. What's their name? Do they love you? Do you think they like you? Have you made out? Do you want to make out?" (tell me more, tell me more) "Are they also banished like you were, and created a star-crossed bond in Exillium? They're definitely smart. I bet you guys have pet names but you don't use theirs in public because you're an introverted spoilsport!"
"I can't tell you her name."
"So she's a girl! That rules out two-thirds of the population!" Glimmer shifted the light, making a ray of light cross Tam's shadow, a pixel among darkness.
I can help you. I know how to get out of here undetected. Or get someone in.
I'm not putting her in danger, Glimmer.
You won't be. Just shadow-whisper to her the plan.

Biana bit her lip, pulling her cloak tighter across her curves while she waited in the overwhelmingly shadowed tunnel. It could have been a trap. She came anyone, arriving along, having told Della she was shopping in Atlantis. Biana silently thanked her father for continually dancing around the topic of a registry pendant.
Biana, I'm in front of you. I'm going to hold your hand, just so you know where I am. I can't stay long.
Biana breathed in sharply. She'd thought-she'd thought she could make him come back.
So here we are, meeting up in the dark, with no intention of coming home, and you expect me to get over you?
Get over me? There was shock in Tam's mental voice. A shy surprise, wavering confidence.
Fuck, I didn't mean to say that. Biana's fingers curled around Tam's frail wrists.
No, I-I think you did. Tam . . . vulnerable?
Tam's slender fingers drifted up the arm of Biana's cloak, slipping off her hood. Biana arched into him when his fingers whispered across the nape of her neck. Fisting her hands into Tam's tunic, Biana pulled Tam close, feeling his cool breath dancing on her cheek. Tracing Biana's jawline, their eyes met, the air filled with a smoldering intensity.
Slowly, achingly, Tam leaned forward, catching Biana's lips with his own. And oh, you would think the kiss would be as cool as his breath, but a fiery heat coursed through Biana, her nails digging into Tam's hip. Tam crushed her to him, a their legs tangled together, the pair fighting to keep upright until they just didn't fight that particular fight anymore, choosing to battle each other for dominance.
(Honestly, I don't know if Biana would be the big spoon or the little spoon.)
