When there's a will, there's a way. And Sophie really wanted to get away. Anyone with half a brain could tell. Keefe said her emotions were dulled. Stina told Sophie her leadership deteriorated. Biana? Biana thought the remedy was makeovers. All Sophie did was stare off into space, silent.

"Keefe, I need to go home." He didn't say anything stupid and cheesy, like: This is your home. He simply nodded, understanding. He instead snuck into Alden's office to get a pathfinder, found a coordinates atlas, and began twisting and sliding the blue crystals.

They both prepared. Keefe wearing his Batman shirt, considerably tighter than last time, while Sophie wore a simple tunic tucked into her Foxfire skirt.

"San Diego, San Diego, here we come." They stepped into whorls of smoky blue light, coughing as they appeared in front of University High.

"To get home from school I took the bus to my street, Calgary Avenue. " Right on time, the bus began to leave. Sophie and Keefe channeled energy into their legs, banging at the sides and yelling. The wiry old man rolled his eyes and stopped, sliding open the doors. Sophie took the window seat in the front, Keefe by her side. Once dropped off, they walked to her old house.

Amy was now eighteen, and had bought the house. Sophie gently shook the crystal wind chimes, alerting Amy to her presence. But it wasn't Amy who came to the door.

Sophie threw down an obscurer, leveling a melder to Glimmer's head. Glimmer was a Neverseen member, or rather, is a Neverseen member. She had pretended to betray the group, then acted as a double agent. When Tam had found out, Glimmer had run away.

"Where's Amy." Keefe gently pushed Sophie's arm down.

"I'm in the kitchen!" Keefe gave Sophie a reassuring look, then stepped inside. Glimmer led them to Amy, wiping flour off her face.

"Sophie, Sophie's boyfriend, meet Glimmer, my girlfriend."  Sophie spluttered at Amy's assumption, then decided to move on.

"She's a Neverseen agent!"

"Yeah, I know."

"Excuse us for a minute." Keefe pulled Sophie into the living room, sitting down on the sofa. "They love each other. I'm 95 percent sure. If it makes you feel better, you can do the fancy telepath mind-sweep of the house." Keefe sent a calming blue breeze.

"Nothing Neverseen, or Elvin." Sophie resumed breathing deeply, Keefe rubbing her back as Amy pretended to take selfies when she was really taking pictures of the pair.

"Maybe she just wants to start over. I wish I could do that sometimes." Sophie thanked Keefe with her eyes, standing up with his hand in hers.

"Congrats?"

Everyone slowly wove together, bonding over a game of Monoply, where Keefe trumped them all with backwards logic. Glimmer was very confused by the property cards, while Amy was way too competitive.

"Thanks for that," Sophie whispered as they were leaving.

"You don't need to thank me."

"Yes I do." A squeezing of hands, brush of their shoulders. . .

When there's a will, there's a way. Kind of beautiful, isn't it?
