Sophie couldn't imagine what would have happened if Jolie wasn't her big sister. Actually, she could! Years of oblivion, blindsiding certain feelings. Passing moments by, labeling incredibly thoughtful gifts as something a really good friend would give.

She was almost like that one human show her cousin had shown her, the oblivious blonde calling the fanbase & Production approved love interest A Very Good Friend ^tm. Oh, [insert name here]? No, [insert pronoun here] just a friend. Until the agonizing moment: Oh, [insert name here]? [insert pronoun here] a very good friend.

Her dad had always disliked Keefe from the beginning, and it was only now that Jolie explained why. It was because Keefe liked her. In hindsight, it seemed pretty obvious. Almost too obvious. Her stomach flopped and flipped like a pancake in the hands of a world-renowned chef.

Did she like him too?

When he had helped her move her stuff into the Winnowing Gala Hall, there were some feelings that adventured into new territory. It was her bedroom now, since Jolie wasn't going to have another one. Winnowing Gala, that is.

"So. Keefe, huh," Dex said, grinning. "I guess he is pretty cute." A blush claimed Sophie's face, an overwhelming cherry shade rushing to her cheeks. "Not your usual type though."

"Just because we're related, doesn't mean you get to judge me!"

"I mean, there was that brief enemies to lovers stint with Stina, of all people, the infatuation with Fitz, then Biana. The whole lipstick lesbian ideal with Marella-"

"You can stop now," Sophie interrupted, covering here ears. Her crushes were almost always one-sided.

"I'm just stating the facts. You've always been a brunette person, except for Marella," Dex explained, laughing as he continued to make his cousin blush harder.

"It's not about their hair color," Sophie said, bringing her knees to her chest. "Besides, I could make fun of you all I want for that decade-long torch you've had burning for Fitz-"

"Shut up!" Dex's blush was much like Sophie's but decorated with constellations of freckles.

Keefe's smile, his laugh, the way he looked at her - it all made her heart want to blow up from overheating. It wasn't face-value, however attractive he may be, it was about the way he treated her. He was careful, honest, and made her laugh. He made her feel warm inside.

"Whatcha gonna do about it," Dex asked.

"I . . . don't know."

( Hehe, turns out 🎶 it was Sokeefe all along 🎶. So my last A/N was a tad bit inaccurate. This took a reaaally long time FerntheWizardCat and I'm really sorry  😭😭😭 )
