I've seen where we started. So long as we're together at the end of the day." Keefe laced his fingers in hers, his speech heartfelt, he was here for Sophie one last time.
"That would be enough." Just one tear.
"We could be enough." Just two intermingling drops.
"World, let us be enough!" Streams crossing over each other, slipping in and out of reality.
"We don't need a legacy." I know, I know.
"We don't need a perfect match." I know, I know.
"Please be alive at the end of the day!" Sophie was still denying the truth.
"That would be enough." Just four words. Simple as can be.
Salty water joined the blood beneath the tiring body. Rivulets of sorrow. Soft breaths.
