First Sight

12: Deja Vu

( Flashback )

'Hah- it's already been a week since the new school year started, and so far my first year of high school's been a let down. It's unfortunate that I'm still getting bullied by everyone that I went to Junior high with. I couldn't sleep much last night and woke up earlier than I should've, so I guess I should go to the library and study a little. I heard the first exams are earlier than usual this year, so I should study for those and hope everything will be fine by then.' Izuku thought as she walked towards the large campus. 

'If only mom and dad weren't so busy working and I didn't have to live at Emra's when they're out of town. I feel bad for taking up Emra's place... huh?' 

Izuku looked up and saw a boy with spiky Ash Blond hair and could tell she'd never seen him before. 

'Is he new?'

"Um, excuse me, are you new here?" 

The boy turned his head and froze. She got a clear look at his face, he looked to be around the same age as her, as his eyes sparked Ruby Red. 

"I saw you earlier and noticed you looked a little lost. Can I help you with anything?" she asked with a sweet smile. 

She noticed right away how his cheeks turned flush just from her question. 

"Ah- I- I'm fine! I'm not lost!" he yelled in defense. 

"Oh okay, guess I just misinterpreted the situation. Sorry about that." Izuku said, turning around and was about to walk away.

'He didn't have to be so defensive, maybe he's embarrassed that he's lost and didn't want any help?' Izuku thought. 

"Tch- hey wait!" he yelled. 

Izuku quickly stopped in her tracks and turned around to face him again. 

"Yes? Did you say something?" she asked, pushing her hair out of her face. 

"Ah- I- I need help..." he said, trying not to look at her and rubbing the back of his head. 

'Huh, so he does need some help.' 

"Oh good, I thought that's what you were going to say. So where're you heading?" Izuku asked him. 

"I-I need to go to the Head Office..." 

"Oh okay, it's not that far from here. C'mon!" she said, as she grabbed his hand and pulled him to follow her. 

'Ack- what am I doing?!?! I just grabbed his hand naturally without even realizing it! I'm such an idiot!'

"Here we are! The Head Office! We're still a bit early, but I could stay with you until a staff member gets here." Izuku said happily. 

"Ah- s-sure..." the boy said, rubbing his head again. 

"You look new to this school, did you go to a different Junior high?" Izuku asked. 

"Yeah... it was in America..." 

"America, really?!?! It must be really cool over there right?" she asked, getting a little excited.
