71: Greenlight

"Izu-" 

"I need to talk to you." Izumi said, still trying to catch her breath. 

"Ah- right now?" 

"Yes, as in right now right now." Izumi said. 

Katsuki looked at the time and sighed. 

"I mean we can talk, but I need to be somewhere soon." 

"That's fine, it won't take long!" Izumi said right away. 

"O-... kay..." he said and opened the door for her to come inside.

Izumi sat down on the couch and held her bag tightly, as she wanted to ask him about the portraits of her. 

"Hah- I didn't expect you to come here out of the blue." Katsuki said, as he slowly sat down on the opposite side of the couch. 

Izumi felt a lump in her throat, she was scared to talk, but why? She'd known Katsuki for so long and now that she knew more about Katsuki now, she wanted to say those words so badly. 

Katsuki noticed how she wasn't looking to try and say anything, so he was gonna break the ice.

"You know... I was trying to find you everywhere after we graduated. I wanted to look for you even more after I graduated college since we originally planned to go to the same college together. And... the day after we fought... I tried to visit you everyday to see if you would change. I never got the chance to see you, but I would keep trying only to end up not seeing you at all." Katsuki said. 

'I know... I know what you're talking about now, but why can't I say anything?' Izumi thought. Katsuki sighed and stood up from the couch. 

"Hah- look, if you wanna talk, we can try to talk tomorrow since I need to be somewhere, so will you-" 

"I have something I wanna tell you!" Izumi yelled.

Katsuki looked down at her and noticed how face looked a bit worried and scared. 

"Okay... what is it?" Katsuki asked. 

"R-Right... I... how do I say this... I-I just... I really-" 

"Let's stop this." 

Izumi froze and looked up at him. 

"Huh?" 

"Let's stop this, I've tried countless times for you to like me, but it's clear that you don't like me anymore. So I give up, I... don't like you anymore." 

Izumi froze, it felt like her heart dropped. 

"After the last time I tried to confess to you, I realized that things have really changed between us, so I won't like you anymore." Katsuki said. 

Izumi didn't like hearing this, this was something she'd least expected to hear from her old best friend.

"I can tell you've moved on, so I'll move on too. We can just... stay as friends." Katsuki said. 

'No... I don't wanna hear this! This- This can't be right!' Izumi thought. 

"And... There's no reason for me to try and continue asking if you will sell your house to me, since I've given up on that too. So you could leave the company if you want since the deal's off and I don't want you to end up hating me like before. We could act like complete strangers if that's what you want too." Katsuki said.
