First Sight

22: Sweet Dreams

While she was in the middle of working, Izumi felt her phone vibrate in her pocket, she'd gotten a message from someone. She glanced around her area, no one seemed to be watching her or around her. 

'Who's texting me?' she thought, as she carefully pulled her phone out of her pocket to see it was a text from Iris. 

Come see me on your lunch break, I've got to tell you something. 

'She has to see me in person to tell me? Why can't she just text it to me?' the greenette thought and then looked at the clock. Everyone else on the floor looked like they were leaving for a quick lunch break. 

'Wouldn't hurt to try, I'll be quick, and then I can finish this once I get back.' she thought, placing her phone back in her pocket and grabbing her things to leave as swiftly and quietly as she could.

"I'm surprised you came sooner than I thought." Iris said. 

"Well you did say on my lunch break and it seemed everyone else was about to leave for theirs." Izumi said, sitting down and exhaling and feeling how tired her body was. 

"So~ How's the new job going?" the bluenette asked. 

"Hah- I'm lucky I arrived at work 2 hours early, so once I get back after my break, I should be done for the day after another 2 hours." Izumi said. 

"Huh- why did you arrive at your new job 2 hours early, and on the first day?" 

"Because my position is different from everyone else on the floor. Everyone else works 8 hours, but I have to work until all of my tasks are done for the day. I've already been working for 6 hours, and I've handled most of the tasks already." Izumi said.

"So that means you can leave if your tasks are all completed and you could leave your job at 2 in the afternoon? I knew you were an early bird, but nothing like this." Iris said. 

"Hah- it's just natural for me to wake up this early because of all the training I did in Junior high and high school. 'Yawn' But since I barely got any sleep last night because you were helping me all night, I'm not fully awake and will need a nap once I get off work today." Izumi said, stretching her arms. 

"You're the one that asked for the help so late at night, don't blame me for everything." Iris teased.

"Anyway, what was the reason I had to come in person on my lunch break?" 

"Ah- I'm so glad you asked. First and foremost, here." 

The bluenette grabbed a small box off her desk and handed it to the greenette. 

Izumi looked at the box and then back at Iris. 

"Go on, open it." 

"Is this some kind of trick?" 

"No, more like you need this." Izumi sighed and slowly opened the small box hoping that it wasn't a trap.

Once she opened it, she batted her eyes a few times and then looked back up at the bluenette. 

"A... a new phone?" 

"Since Katsuki already has your phone number, I thought it would be a good idea to get you another phone that has you as a different phone number. He already has your number as Emily, and I'm sure he'd be curious as to why you'd be answering the phone if he calls Emily. Just thinking ahead for you." Iris said, fixing the curls in her hair. 

"Huh- I didn't even think of that, good call, thanks." Izumi said. 

"No problem, but that's not the only thing I wanted to tell you. You can come in!" Iris yelled, looking at the door.
