64: No Shame

( Back to Present )

As much as Izumi didn't want to ride in the same exact car as Katsuki, she had no choice, but it's not as bad as she thought. The entire ride was silent, they barely spoke any words to each other, and Izumi ended up falling asleep as Katsuki continued to drive the entire time.

After a long 7 hours, the car came to a stop and Katsuki turned his head to see Izumi sleeping peacefully. 

'Hmph, still as cute as always...' he thought. 

He leaned closer to her face and slowly looked down to see how soft her lips looked. He couldn't help but lean in closer and closer, but remembered what Izumi said just days before. 

"You clearly know that I don't like you... so why are you still trying?" 

He stopped himself and moved away realizing that this was not what he promised. 

'I said I wouldn't pressure her, and this... is something I can't do either. No matter how much I like her... she said she won't like me.' he thought and sighed at just the thought. 

'Let's just get this trip over and done with, I feel like I'm wasting time here since it's clear...' he paused and looked back at the greenette. 

'She's gonna try and distance herself from me again.' he thought.

"Izumi, you okay? You look really tired?" 

"I'm fine, I took a little nap on the way here, so I'm still not fully awake yet." Izumi said, as she took off her specs to rub her eyes. 

"Ah- Izumi, your eyes are so pretty!" Mina exclaimed. 

"Huh? My eyes?" 

"Mn, they look really pretty without those glasses in the way!" she explained. 

"Yeah, you should wear contacts more often." 

"I'm sure you'd look just as good with them." Sero and Kaminari noted. 

"Ah- I-I don't really like wearing contacts." Izumi said. 

"Huh? Why not?" 

"Because..." 

Izumi looked up and didn't see the certain blond anywhere.

"I just... I feel comfortable wearing my glasses instead!" 

"Oh really, well that's up to you!" Izumi froze. 

'Huh?' 

"Yeah, I mean you look just as cute with them, so you don't need to listen to us." Kaminari said. 

"O-Oh... thanks..." Izumi said. 

"Eh? Izumi, why're you crying?!?!" Mina asked, getting worried. 

"Huh?" 

"Did we say something to offend you?" 

"No no! It's just... I haven't felt this comfortable with what I wear in a long time, it's a bit relieving." Izumi said, wiping her tears away. 

As her coworkers were trying to cheer her up, Katsuki was hiding and listening the entire time and couldn't help but smile knowing that some things have and haven't changed from high school to now for his best friend.
