First Sight

55: Flu

Izumi woke up from the small cracks of light passing through the curtains as they hit her skin. She pulled the covers to cover her face as she didn't want to wake up, but the sound of her phone ringing only caused her to be awake at this point. 

'Hah- can't I just sleep a little more?' she thought as she reached out to find her phone and grabbed the small box that was ringing next to her pillow. 

She didn't even check who it was calling her, she just pulled it close to her ear and said; 

"Hello?"

"Izumi! I'm so glad you decided after everything that's been going on with your mother!" 

It was Takashi Gunner, the doctor taking care of Izumi's mom calling her. 

"Umm... I don't know what you're talking about Takashi..." 

"I'm sure you just woke up, I can tell from how tired and dazed you sound. But back to what I called you for, I'm glad you agreed to start the Chemo for your mother." 

That's what woke the greenette up right away. 

"What?!?" she said, sitting up from the bed. 

"Don't worry, we'll be starting the Chemotherapy today, and I'm positive your mother will do just fine." Takashi said.

'What the- I never agreed to the Chemo yet!' Izumi thought. 

"But- hold on, Takashi, what about-" 

"I was surprised to find out you paid all the hospital bills all at once, but it's a good thing. I'm sure that gives you some relief as well, right?" Takashi said. 

"H-Hold on, I did what?" 

"The bills have been paid, every single one." Izumi froze, but how was that possible? 

"I-I-" 

"I'm sure you have many questions, but I need to get back to work. And you are more than welcome to come and visit your mother whenever you can. Take care!" 

"No wait- I-" 

But it was already too late as he hung up on her before she could ask anything. 

Her right hand that held her phone dropped back onto the bed and she stared at the screen of her phone.

"What? It's... been paid for? But how? It couldn't have been Shoto-" 

She froze after what she said. She quickly looked around the room and recognized the bedroom. 

'This is... the same bedroom I was in the last time I was here. Then-' 

Izumi remembered what happened last night, how Shoto confessed his feelings to her and she didn't give him a response. How she was confused about what she was feeling and thought that if she had a drink then all these problems would go away. 

But once she drank 4 cans of beer... her mind was blank, she couldn't remember anything after she drank. 

'I-I got drunk and ended up here... Wait- does that mean...' Izumi thought about it and froze when she figured it out.

Katsuki was in his office as Sirius was running a few errands for him, and the blond was constantly thinking about everything that happened the day before. 

He even wrote all the connections between Izumi and Izuku down in a notebook! 

'How did this get so complicated, all these connections keep coming and I don't even realize them until now. Still...' Katsuki thought about what Izumi said as she was drunk the night before as she was about to kiss him.
