( Bit of a Timeskip again, sorry! )
It had been an entire week after the Reunion and as well as Katsuki confessing to Izumi again.
Though Izumi said she'd meet Katsuki the following Monday, he never showed up to work. It was now Thursday and yet again the blond wasn't in the office.
"He's... not here again?" Izumi asked.
"Unfortunately, he said he's been taking care of things and has been working at home all this week." Sirius said.
"Ah- I... I got it." Izumi mumbled and went back to her desk.
'I don't get it... is Kacchan avoiding me because I turned him down again? But why? It's not that I don't like Kacchan, I just feel guilty for lying to him in the past. Now what can I do?' she thought.
Izumi went out on her lunch break, but didn't really know where to go.
She was sure that if she told Iris or Melissa about the situation, they'd only tell her she will regret it. So she sat down on a bench that was right outside the company, and soon lost the appetite to eat, because she was worried about Katsuki.
'Kacchan... I can't do it...'
"You look a little lost in thought."
Izumi looked up to see it was Shoto talking to her.
"S-Shoto, I didn't know you were standing there."
"I haven't been standing here that long. Is something on your mind?" Shoto asked.
"Um... a little..." Izumi mumbled.
Shoto sat down next to her and was waiting to hear what she'd say.
"It's... it's Katsuki..."
"Bakugo? Is something wrong with him?"
"I-I don't know. He's been working from home all this week, and I'm worried that he's been doing this because of me..." she said.
"Because of you, why would you think that?"
"Because... he... he confessed to me, and I... I turned him down..." she mumbled.
"Any reason why you turned him down?"
"I just... Katsuki was my old high school friend, the same one I told you about. So as much as I want to accept him, I've done so many things to hurt him that I can't even forgive myself. I've lied to him countless times and I just can't tell him that I feel the same way, because I don't want to hurt him." Izumi said.
"Has he ever acted this way before?"
"No, so I'm sure he's trying to avoid me as best as possible, but I don't know what to do." Izumi said.
"Maybe he's giving you space, he might be worried that he's pressuring you, have you thought about that?"
"That would make sense... but I would've preferred him to actually come to work and just not talk to me instead. I just don't know anymore..." she said with tears in her eyes.
Shoto had never seen this side of the greenette, and though he was disappointed that she didn't have the same feelings for him as he did for her, he was at least willing to talk to her and understand why she seemed troubled, no matter how much it hurt him.
"You'll find a way, and I'm sure Bakugo won't stay like this forever, just trust me."
