Chapter 10 - Arcade

Chapter 10:

It was Friday, the best day of the week. We had arranged to go to the Arcade after School and I was pretty excited! I hadn't been with my new friends from U.A yet. Me and Mina met up, heading to Jirou's house together to get ready, we wanted to look nice. Mina then informed us that Ochako, Deku, Todoroki and Iida would be joining us at the Arcade later. That was a nice surprise, I study with those guys a lot outside of school but don't get much time to just hang out and relax, so I was looking forward to it.

We got ready and headed out to the bustling sights of the city. I spotted a trio of guys waiting outside the Arcade for us. Kirishima & Kaminari's brightly coloured hair stood out from a mile away, both of them waving exaggeratedly so we could see them. It made me chuckle.

Bakugou kept to himself, leaning against a wall away from the others scrolling on his phone.

We made our way over to join them.

"Is Sero coming?" Mina asked.

"I dunno, I asked him but I think he's hanging out with Tokoyami tonight."

"Ahh fair enough. Well then, where should we start first?"

"We can head into the Arcade then grab something to eat later?" Kaminari suggested.

"Sounds like a plan!" Jirou chimed in.

As we entered the building, a symphony of flashing neon lights surrounded us. The air was filled with a mix of excitement and nostalgia. I could hear the clattering sound of tokens being inserted into machines. It echoed throughout the space, accompanied by bursts of laughter and intense concentration. The smell of popcorn and sugary treats lingered in the air, tempting my senses. I navigated through the crowd, feeling a surge of anticipation as I approached a specific game, ready to embark on a virtual journey. Yes, it was Street Fighter.

"Ahhh NO WAY!! Someone has beaten my High Score it's gone!"

"Damn dude that sucks, who beat it?"

"Lord explosion mur- EHHH!?!?! BAKUGOU!?!"

Bakugou looked up from his sulking in the corner.

"When did you do this!?" Kaminari exclaimed.

I couldn't help but start laughing.

"HUH? What's so funny?" Bakugou barked at me.

I couldn't answer from laughing too much, but I found it hilarious that of all people, of course it was Bakugou who had beaten his high score! He has to be the best at EVERYTHING! And the Lord Explosion Murder definitely gave it away. Finally, I calmed down.

"Lord Explosion Murder, hahaha that could never be anyone else." I wiped a tear from my eye.

I glanced over to see the high score: 9085409

"Woah." I uttered under my breath.

"Well you won't be able to beat Kaminari's score, looks like you'll have to challenge Bakugou instead." Kirishima teased.

I felt my stomach drop.. I didn't even know Bakugou played games, I mean he's a guy and most have done at some point in their lives but he'd never mentioned it.

"It's just not FAIR! How did you get your score so high?" Kaminari sighed.

"You're not even GOOD at games!"

"HUH!?! SINCE WHEN DID I SAY I WASNT GOOD AT GAMES? I'M GOOD AT EVERYTHING!" Bakugou expressed in his usual loud, obnoxious tone.

"Well uh.. You never come to our Mario Kart sessions even when we invite you!"
