Chapter 11:

BAKUGOU'S POV

Bakugou was taken aback. He remembered the way he saw her with Icyhot, the tears that streamed from her eyes, how the dual-quirk user held her in his arms, and how it was all Bakugou's fault. He didn't want to be the one that hurt her like this. Actually.. he didn't know what he wanted.

He'd seen her cry before, but she didn't know that. The sheer sight of it alone had become something he never wanted to witness again. He watched her for a moment, unsure of what to do. But then, something inside him softened. He couldn't explain it, but he felt a sudden urge to comfort her.

Without thinking...

"Y/N." Her name slipped from his lips.

She had such a pretty name, it suited her perfectly. He felt nervous saying it, he hadn't ever actually said it out loud before, at least not to her. Despite that it was the one word that seemed to find its way into his head the most. Although, there was no way he would ever admit that.

"I was just seeing how far you would go.."

He fucked up. He knew he had. What the hell was he thinking? He didn't like her being at U.A because ever since she arrived it drove him mad. He wasn't sure what it was but she stirred something up inside him. It was confusing and frustrating. He didn't know what to do about it. He had always been so sure that he hated her, but in moments like this... When she stood before him looking as though she was about to cry from his harsh, cruel words, he couldn't help but wonder if maybe he was wrong.

"L-Let's just play the game." He looked away avoiding eye contact.

He struggled to communicate with other people in general but even more so when it came to Y/N. No matter how awful and horrible he was, she always found a way to make light of the situation, gloss over it and make things okay. Unlike other people, she never once seeked out an apology from him, but chose to accept him for who he was.

"Being all moody is just a part of who you are isn't it?"

Her words replayed in his mind a lot more than she knew. How could she accept him when he hurt her so much?

"Okay! But just to let you know, I'm a pro-gamer!" She smiled smugly.

This ignited a passion inside him. See Bakugou came to the Arcade a lot, often alone. He enjoyed playing games too. He had come a couple of times with the Bakusquad but pretended to have little interest in games. He knew if they knew he actually enjoyed them Kirishima would be dragging him out even more so on these pointless expeditions.

After playing together with Y/N he realised he'd finally found someone just as good at games as him. Someone that wasn't completely useless and this sparked an energetic surge inside him. Finally I can beat that fucking high score on _____. Without even thinking he was grabbing Y/N by the wrist and forcing her to play. As the night drew on he found himself dragging her all over the Arcade to play all his favourite games he was really enjoying it too but they had been doing this for quite awhile now, it was only a matter of time until they had to reunite with the others but there was still one more thing he had to do.

'I don't think the words I'm sorry are in his vocabulary.'

Another quote of Y/N's sparked its way to his mind. She was right. He'd never apologised to anyone before, even though he most likely should have by now. But he didn't know how to say sorry or where to even start. Yet something kept ushering inside him that he needed to make up for what he did earlier. No, for what he had done to her in general.

I mean, during these past few weeks, she hadn't really done anything wrong. She consistently gave him space when he needed it, but still found a way to be around him and his friends, despite his visible disdain and how he treated her. She even tried to comfort him when he seemed off.

But why?

He knew why. The truth was, she was a genuinely kind person, who glowed with the warmth of the reminiscent of the sun, like an angelic being. She made an effort to understand him and not pass judgment on his behaviour. He knew that she didn't deserve any of the hurtful things he had said or done, and he was well aware that he needed to make it up to her, even if he didn't have a clue how to.

"I'm actually pretty thirsty, I'm gonna go grab a drink. Will you be okay to wait here?"

"Okay.." She croaked.

She must be thirsty too. Bakugou searched for the closest drink stand, there was so much going on in this place it was a little disorientating. She'd definitely wait for him right? A thought sprung into mind. Of course she would, she was a good person. He started debating in his head how to muster up the courage in order to form some kind of apology before they both got back to the rest of the group. He knew that they were alone together, this was the only chance he was going to get. He came across a milkshake place that looked pretty good and the line wasn't too long.

He stood there reading through the menu for a couple of minutes until realising he didn't have a CLUE what kind of milkshake she would even like. He felt like such an idiot not knowing such a simple thing.

"Well, I've got a feeling she's the kinda girl that likes strawberries." He thought out loud.

In the end he decided on getting a Strawberry milkshake and a Caramel one.

If she really hated the strawberry one she could have his, he didn't really care all that much.

He retraced his steps back to were he was before, catching himself searching for Y/N through the crowds. When he spotted her beautiful _______ hair shimmering from the neon lights not too far in the distance. He made his way over to her when he noticed a weird looking guy with his hood up stood next to her, something about him gave Bakugou the creeps. Maybe he was a weird friend of hers she happened to run into.

"Hey, you like strawberries right?" He called out to her.

Bakugou had never seen someone turn around so fast, but when their eyes met he instantly knew that this guy was NOT some friend of hers. His heart began racing when he saw the distressed look on her face, the way her body trembled, tears began to emerge from her eyes. Unable to speak, but just from looking at her he could clearly see on the inside, she was screaming "Help me."

He tried to assess the situation as calmly as possible before acting until he noticed that this dude had his dirty little hands all over her arm. He was gripping her tight, her face visibly wincing at the pain. An uncontrollable rage began to bubble up inside him, he might actually kill this fucking guy. How dare he. There was no chance in being calm in a situation like this, she was clearly terrified. No. She looked traumatised. This guy was bad news and Bakugou needed to act fast.

Before he knew it he began to scream threats at the guy, one's that actually carried some weight, this time he meant them. He was plunging his way through the air and within seconds had sent the hooded boy flying across the room into a wall, cracking it in half. The boy slumped to the floor and the Arcade had fell silent. Security guards had made their way over to take a statement. Kirishima, Kaminari, Mina hell, even Deku and Todoroki had spotted the situation from a couple yards away and had made their way over too.

"Bakugou you okay man?"

"I'm fine. Where's Y/N?"

"I saw her just a second ago, she was just behind you.."

"She's disappeared hasn't she?" He sighed.

"I fucking hate it when she does that." Bakugou said taking a seat close by, resting his head in his hands.

"It's okay we'll find her." Mina said reassuringly.
