More days flew by as I watched our classmates continue to pair off one by one. Even members of Class 1-B had coupled up with some of our class. The anxiety gnawed at me, leaving me feeling hopeless and, most of all, deeply embarrassed. The U.A. Ball was fast approaching, and no one had asked me to go. With so little time left, I doubted anyone would.

Mina, Jirou, and I had already gone dress shopping, and they were both thrilled about the upcoming night. Meanwhile, I was a bundle of nerves. At least I had an incredible dress—thanks to Mina's insistence.

"If no one's asked you yet, why don't you just ask someone?" Mina suggested.

"Yeah, like Mina did! I hear Mineta's still available," Jirou teased, a mischievous grin on her face.

I found myself caught between laughing and crying. "At this rate, I might actually have to go with Mineta..."

Mina and Jirou looked at me, horrified.

"There's no way in HELL we'd let you go with that perv!" Mina declared, appalled.

"Absolutely not," Jirou added firmly.

"Yeah, I think I'd rather die to be honest," I chuckled in return.

Mina then asked, "Aren't there any cute guys in the other classes you could ask?"

"What about Shinso? He's pretty cool, and he's Kaminari's friend!" Jirou suggested. "They've gotten close lately, and he seems like a super chill guy."

"Shinso? I don't think we've ever met," I admitted.

"He's the one with the purple hair!"

"I don't know, guys," I sighed. "I might just have to go solo. It's mandatory to attend, but having a date is just tradition, right? What's Aizawa gonna do, expel me for having no rizz!?"

The girls burst into laughter.

"Well, at least you've got your humor," Mina chuckled.

The days until the U.A. Ball were ticking away, and we were all sitting in the lounge, talking about last-minute preparations. The nerves in my stomach twisted as we chatted, and it was clear I wasn't the only one feeling the pressure.

BAKUGOU POV:

After a grueling post-dinner training session with Kirishima, Bakugou was in the locker room, hastily changing out of his sweaty gear. His mind was elsewhere, focused on getting home and relaxing for the rest of the night. Meanwhile, Kirishima, still in the process of packing away his hero costume, seemed to be lost in thought before finally deciding to speak up.

"So, Y/N doesn't have a date... And you don't have a date..." Kirishima hinted, trying to sound casual but clearly with a purpose behind his words.

Bakugou, however, was completely zoned out, too focused on the mundane task of packing his things to register what his red-haired friend was trying to imply.

"Huh? What did you say?" Bakugou asked, looking up briefly, his expression blank.

Kirishima met his gaze with a shy but determined look, deciding to push forward despite Bakugou's obvious disinterest. "I was just talking about the Ball... Y/N doesn't have anyone to go with, and well, you don't either, so..."

Bakugou's expression shifted slightly, his brow furrowing as Kirishima's words began to sink in. "So no one's still asked her yet?" he muttered quietly, almost to himself, as if the thought didn't sit well with him. His deepening frown made it clear that something was bothering him about that fact.

Kirishima shook his head, noticing the change in Bakugou's demeanor. "I was thinking maybe—" he began, hoping to suggest a solution.

But Bakugou cut him off, rolling his eyes in irritation. "Well, stop thinking," he snapped, his voice dripping with impatience.
