A better place

Narrator pov. 4 days later at Agasa's at night~

When Agasa was sleeping in his bed next to Haibara, she sat up and opened her eyes. She made sure he was asleep before she got off the bed and picked up her coat, wearing it around her shoulders and walking down the stairs to the basement, closing the door behind her.

She picked up the phone and started dialing a certain number.

When she mentioned the Twin Tower opening party, the call got cut off as Irene took off the phone plug and stared at Haibara.

She stared back and said, "Karashima-san."

Irene said, "I know who you were talking to but tonight, that was a bad idea." 

Haibara raised an eyebrow as Irene looked at the phone and added, "Because Gin and Vodka are there waiting and listening on the call, with a tracker device connected to the apartment phone, so they would know the address of the caller."

Haibara paused and paled as Edogawa, who actually was also there but got a signal from Irene to let her handle this so he hid by the hallway with Agasa, stepped in then and said, "Nani? Are you serious?"

Irene nodded, "Yeah, but they only got to listen in tonight, so none of the other times counted." 

She added, "Miyano-san, I know how you feel, so I don't blame you. But you're the one who keeps warning us about the risk of letting our emotions cloud our judgment in this situation. So you should stop that."

Haibara blinked as she seemed to process what she said completely before replying, "You know  how I feel?"

Irene's answer was silence as she turned around back to the door and started to leave.

She felt Edogawa reach out for her so she turned her head to him and shook her head to let him know she'd be fine as she left the house and rode the train back to Ekoda where, this time, Kuroba was already waiting for her at the station.

She rode the taxi with him back to the house.

Flashback time~

The news of Miyuki's plane crash had just happened two days ago, Sakura was in her room on her phone in bed, but she wasn't playing any games or texting anyone.

No, she was watching the videos of both her and Miyuki that were stored in her phone's gallery. 

"Well hello there young detective~" Miyuki in a kid costume said in the video while doing a Kid pose and Sakura in the video, dressed up as Sherlock Holmes replied, "Hello, Thief." with a calm expression that was a bit annoyed.

The girls in the video end up laughing because of Miyuki trying to do a magic trick as Kid but failing.

Sakura in reality smiled a bit, though the smile faded as she teared up and whispered, "I miss you..." before sobbing.

Her parents were by the door so they immediately came into the room and hugged her tightly with her hugging them back.

"Mom... Dad... It's not fair... Why did she have to go?" she sobbed out while crying.

Her mother only hugged her and replied, "I'm sorry honey, life isn't always fair. But at least know that she's in a better place now."

Flashback end~

'Yeah...' Irene thought to herself, answering Haibara's earlier question in her head, 'I understand you Haibara-san, but... At least Akemi-san will finally be safe and not under threat anymore.'

'The same to everyone else I lost...' 

After all, they were all in a better place now.

AN: Done! Hope you guys liked it!

Well, Irene gave Ai some more info about her that was vague but at least Ai will not call anymore and would want to talk to her.

Also, did anyone else notice how Conan was ready to comfort her? :3

And we got to see another flashback, a sad one but still.
