Narrator pov. Continuing~

A while later, they were back in Edogawa's hospital room as his curfew outside was over but not visiting hours, and because Edogawa didn't get suddenly tired from remembering anything, the detective boys and Agasa stayed.

Edogawa was sitting on his bed as the real kids, quietly but excitedly, told him about some of the adventures they had, which he was listening to with interest, looking like he was also a child.

It was adorable, Mouri seemed to agree too if her big smile said anything.

Irene and Haibara looked back to see someone peeking at them from the door window and Haibara said, "Who's there?" but instead of answering the person left, Irene took the chance to run after them, even though she knew she couldn't catch them here without exposing herself, to get Kogoro's attention.

It worked as she stopped when she heard Kogoro walking out after her before asking, "What's wrong?" Irene looked up at him and said, "I heard the details from Chiba-keiji but Ojisan... Isn't it possible that Edogawa-kun saw the face of the killer when Sato-keiji was shot?"

Kogoro exclaimed, "Nani?!" Irene nodded, "If that's true, then he'll be targeted." Kogoro was shocked before he said, "Ja, I'll call Megure-keibu and ask him to get Conan bodyguards-"

Irene interrupted, "No. You don't need to do that." Kogoro looked down at her and said, "Huh?" Irene added, "The police need all their men right now to work on the case and catch the killer. It's better to not request anything."

Kogoro looked annoyed and said, "Then what do you want to do? We can't just take Conan with us without a guard." Irene replied, "Exactly. You can't take him to the agency without a guard because everyone could easily get the address and come target him."

"Which is why we need to change something else." She looked up at him, "Instead of getting more people into the place he'd be staying... Why not just change the place?"

Kogoro was confused, "What?" Irene explained, "What I mean is... Let Edogawa-kun stay with me at my cousin's house while he's recovering."

Kogoro blinked and let out an "Eh?!"

She pointed out, "It's safer that way, especially because it's in another prefecture and no one would easily know the address of a house. And my cousin already made it a rule to never tell the address to anyone so even you guys don't know. That means the culprit won't just follow you guys to the place when you visit him to know where it is."

She added mentally, 'And you won't unknowingly tell him either.' and put in "Hakase has the number, so if you need to contact us, just talk to him. Doesn't that sound easier than asking for bodyguards?"

Kogoro seemed to consider it before nodding, "Alright then, we'd go with your idea."

She relaxed and nodded back before they both went back to the room where everyone else was, Edogawa was now tired, so the detective boys were getting ready to leave, Agasa noticed her and quietly said, "Ah, Irene-kun. Come on, we're leaving."

Irene looked up at Kogoro who gave her a nod to tell her that he'd pass the message and so she nodded and looked at Agasa, "Hai, let's go."

She left with Agasa as he dropped her off at the station and she said bye to her friends before going in and buying a ticket to Ekoda.

A-le?~ So Irene is planning on keeping Conan safe by letting him stay with her and Kaito in Ekoda? Now that's interesting.
