Narrator pov. At the grocery store~

Mouri just told the kids about how she and Kudo know each other and that started the expected conversation.

When Genta teased about the two possibly dating, Irene looked at Edogawa and Mouri's red faces, then when it looked like they were both going to say it, she immediately covered his mouth as Mouri exclaimed in denial. 

Thankfully, no one else noticed and she let go right after, Edogawa seemed to get why she did that since he didn't say anything.

The conversation continued normally without Mouri giving Edogawa attention thanks to that and then Mouri got embarrassed as Ayumi asked again if Kudo was her boyfriend.

Irene then warned Edogawa to watch what he says and does today as Mouri will get suspicious, and to especially not immediately say someone's occupation and pretend not to know like a more normal kid, to which he nodded.

In the end, Irene had to snap Mouri out of it since she peeled off the whole cabbage which meant she had to pay for it before they said bye to the kids and left back to the agency.

Time skip to when they're back at the agency (Brought to you by Ai's cuteness)~

Mouri and Edogawa started conversing about where Kudo was and why he hadn't come back yet but Irene just ignored it and walked to the desk away from the door.

The agency's bell rang and Mouri went and answered it, causing the toys to fall in and onto Edogawa which made him fall while avoiding them and woke Kogoro who was asleep.

A certain surgeon walked in and saw what happened before he apologized to Edogawa and helped him up.

After he was revealed to be a client, Kogoro got to work and they both sat down.

Ogawa introduced himself, explained his problem, and then revealed how much money was sent to him in total this month, making everyone, except Irene, shocked.

After Ogawa explained further and Kogoro "joked" about taking care of the money, Edogawa, seeming to remember Irene's warning, spoke up.

"Ne Ojisan, what's your job?"

Ogawa answered the question, "Ah, I'm a surgeon. I had just performed an operation this morning."

Edogawa replied, "Then, maybe it's from one of your patients that you've saved. This is their way of saying thank you." Ogawa replied, "I see. That makes sense."
