(17) Kudo Shinichi and Edogawa Conan

Narrator pov. Continuing~

Right now, it was the last class, which was science, so Irene took the time to think about things.

Despite Edogawa being amnesiac, he still had the same intelligence so he didn't need much help in class.

That was why nothing much really happened.

Well, except for their classmates taking it upon themselves to reintroduce each other to him at lunch, which got him a bit confused and embarrassed but he still thanked them.

Honestly, even though the only difference was that he had no memories of either of his identities and therefore he doesn't remember being older than he looks, it was more than enough to let his childish side show more easily.

It was... Adorable.

Of course, Irene knew of his childish side even before this, but seeing it out without any restraint from his ego was... nice.

Speaking of, he was also more humble right now.

When he was called to answer a question, he answered it easily, which Kobayashi complimented and that got him to look embarrassed, genuinely embarrassed.

Though it could be because he himself didn't know how he was so smart at the moment, but still.

Irene found herself glancing back at him more than she expected throughout the day because it was her first time seeing this side of him.

She didn't know if Ayumi noticed or not cause her friend didn't say anything, but she wouldn't be surprised if she noticed.

She couldn't help it anyway, for once, she wasn't seeing Kudo Shinichi trying so hard to be a kid without being annoyed.

She was seeing... Edogawa Conan.

She blinked 'Wait what? Why did I think that? Edogawa-kun is Kudo-kun...'

But then again...

Without Edogawa Conan, Kudo Shinichi wouldn't change, and wouldn't mature.

Kudo Shinichi had multiple fans, soccer friends, a childhood friend who's his crush, and another childhood friend who's just mutual between him and the other one more than anything.

His parents left him in Japan when it was legal enough, so he lived alone at home and was spoiled a lot before that which got him to grow up to be immature and naive. And his only connection to the police is Megure and his force.

Edogawa Conan on the other hand...

Instead of fans, he had genuine friends, not a crush and her friend, but a genuine group of friends who were also his classmates, who liked hanging out with him even if it wasn't for playing soccer.

His family, cause we all know they are, do the opposite of spoiling him to protect him and keep him in line, showing love a different way, especially Kogoro.

And we all know he was now anything but naive and immature, knowing better than to let his guard down.

His connections will grow to be more than just one police force, heck they wouldn't even stay to be just police organizations either.

Huh. That explained why she thought that way earlier.

Edogawa Conan was Kudo Shinichi, but at the same time, wasn't.

At least not completely.

Irene snapped out of her thoughts as the final bell rang and she started packing her things back in her backpack, she looked back at Edogawa to make sure he was doing the same before she stood up and started walking to the shoe lockers with Edogawa following.

Well, we see Irene starting to think deeply about how Conan acts so differently without memories.

And we get to see the difference between him and Shinichi more clearly. Do you guys agree with her opinion?
