True Happiness (rewrite version)

An interesting development

AN: This should be the last one for the revival arc. I'm. Not. Doing. the stupid date. Hope you enjoy it!

Narrator pov. Continuing when Megure and the others are talking~

Megure started to look around once he realized that they were at Mouri's school, obviously looking for Kogoro who was putting back on his coat.

Both he and Hattori approached as Kogoro obliviously asked Megure if he was looking for someone and he answered, "You, I mean you." thinking to himself before he turned to Hattori and added, "And I see Hattori-kun is here too."

Hattori just explained, "Neechan invited both Kazuha and I ta come today." with a nod and a grin in greeting.

Megure then asked if anyone came close to the body and Kogoro answered no, no one except the forensic officer touched the body.

When Takagi asked about the cause of death Hattori easily explained in answer how it was Pottasium Cyanide.

Since he wasn't trying to pretend to be Kudo this time, Kogoro knew that it was just because Hattori was a detective that he knew all this information and so no unnecessary tension was made.

Instead, Megure just continued the investigation as he asked the suspects if the victim bought the drinks and so the conversation went on as expected.

Then Mai mentioned how the victim seemed to act strangely once they arrived in his car, searching around the dashboard.

Since the possibility of suicide was on the table, Megure told Takagi to let the suspects lead him to the car and look inside since something might be there and so Takagi and Chiba followed the suspects outside to the car in the pouring rain.

Irene looked out the window at them with the knight joining as they all ran while covering their heads with their arms from the pouring rain before the knight closed the curtains and Irene looked up at him with a tilted head.

She knew he would hear her silent question "Are you okay?" and he would understand it was about what happened earlier with the kiss.

His answer was nodding to say yes.

She didn't get an explanation about why he didn't look okay but before she could point that out, she heard Hattori talking to 'Edogawa' which made her drop the subject and let the knight walk off to do his thing.

Oh well, maybe what happened earlier was that he got shy on stage.

It didn't matter as long as Kudo didn't start already feeling pain this early.

Hattori, oblivious about how he wasn't actually talking to Edogawa, kept talking about his deduction with 'him'.

Irene went back to the girls' side and heard Toyama talk about how the two boys get along with Mouri who just agreed with a smile.

After a while, Megure got a call reporting the analysis results and hung up after hearing them just before Takagi came and they talked about what they both found, more evidence that led to the conclusion of suicide.

And that's when a certain someone spoke up, "Please wait Megure-keibu!" everyone looked over to see the knight standing at the gym door and continued talking as he walked closer.

Time skip to after the case is solved and Shinichi is starting to pass out(Brought to you by Author-chan not wanting to give this arc another chapter)~

Irene went over to Kudo, who was barely awake and only had his palm on the ground to stop him from falling, and stood in front of his view.

It... actually hurt seeing him in this much pain.

Not the time though.

She looked into his panicked eyes as he noticed her approach and gave him a nod with another slight smile. The hidden message was clear to him.

"It's okay, you aren't turning back. Let go."

Immediately trusting her, Kudo let his eyes close and collapsed. Irene sighed before leaving during the commotion after that.

The next day, Irene met up with the detective boys outside of school as they waited for 'Edogawa' who appeared with Mouri and Kudo.

Ayumi called out, "Conan-kun!" as they ran over to them and the mentioned 'boy' looked over, Mitsuhiko congratulated 'him' on the recovery before Kudo talked to the kids.

They suddenly became shy as they didn't know him which made him surprised and Genta asked 'Edogawa' who this was which was answered.

When Mitsuhiko recalled the house next to Agasa's being haunted, Irene corrected, "Not haunted, abandoned. I mean the owner is right there and he isn't scary." she pointed at Kudo and Mitsuhiko let out a nervous laugh.

The rest of the conversation continued as Kudo stared at them before Mouri snapped him out of it and he almost did the slip-up of calling her "Neechan" but bit his tongue to stop himself before he just ran after her.

Irene noticed this and blinked before she walked with the kids to their own school.

This was an interesting development with both changes and no changes.

Well, the fact that they're soulmates is more realistically proven here by how they can have a conversation without talking by just facial expression and eye contact. 

And that's something Shinichi never had with Ran sooo

And how Shinichi immediately trusts what Irene says when she tells him it's okay to stop resisting. >w<

And look at that, he stopped himself from slipping up too.
