Narrator pov. Teitan Elementary Class 1-b~
Ayumi just told the detective boys about the new transfer student coming to their class, Irene had already seen this coming so she didn't pay much attention until Ayumi asked Edogawa what he thought the student would be like and then she turned to Irene and asked, "What about you Irene-chan?"
Irene, who was now wearing the brooch Edogawa gave her, answered, "I think it's a girl who prefers to hide her feelings from everyone but doesn't want to be alone." her expression unchanging as Ayumi nodded in understanding.
Genta then asked Ayumi if she saw the kid in the teacher's lounge and Ayumi explained how she only knew that the last name was Haibara which continued the conversation as Genta jokingly made fun of Edogawa's name at the end which made the detective look annoyed.
And then everyone heard the sound of the class door being held which made Ayumi excited as the door opened.

One of the boys cheered after knowing it was a girl and Irene thought 'Where do kids get ideas like that?' her expression unchanging as she went to sit back at her seat next to Ayumi.
All of the class thought the girl was cute, the duo excluded, before Kobayashi reminded them to sit back in their seats which they did.
When both the teacher and the new girl were by the board, Kobayashi started writing the girl's name on the board while the girl looked around the classroom, her eyes landing on Edogawa, which made Irene know that Agasa didn't say anything about her, which was understandable since her story was more complicated.
Kobayashi introduced Haibara to the class before asking them to treat her nicely which all the real kids in class happily agreed with.
Kobayashi then started to look for a seat for Haibara which was when Genta offered the one next to his since it was empty.
