(13) Lunch with the (former) Kid Killer

Narrator pov. Continuing~

"Kaito! Irene-chan! Lunch is ready! Get our guest and come over!" Nakamori called out from the house next door.

Irene looked out the window and replied, "Hai, Aoko-neechan! We're coming." before she went upstairs to get the mentioned guest.

She knocked and opened the door to see a confetti message on the floor and Edogawa who seemed to be in awe, sitting on his bed and looking between a slightly torn ace card and the confetti message.

'Oh so that was his first prank on him.' she thought to herself before calling out, "Edogawa-kun." he looked up at her and she added, "Come on, lunch is ready."

He nodded and got off the bed as they both walked downstairs to the door where Kuroba was waiting.

They put on their shoes and went next door as Kuroba just walked in as if he owned the place, Irene wasn't that much different, she took Edogawa by the hand to make sure he stepped in instead of being too uncomfortable to do it.

Irene let him walk with her to the dining room where Nakamori and Ginzo were waiting.

Kuroba was already in his seat and Nakamori lit up when she saw Edogawa, squealing, "Kawaii!"

She immediately approached, leaning down close to his face, and introduced herself, "I'm Nakamori Aoko, it's nice to meet you!"  with a big smile.

Edogawa blinked as he tilted his head before he said, "You look like that Ran-neechan I saw when I woke up." he said innocently, and Irene and Kuroba knew it was true, Ginzo did as well.

Nakamori blinked as she was the only one who didn't know this and replied, "Eh? Someone looks like me?"

Edogawa nodded and said, "But it's still nice to meet you, Aoko-neechan." with a small smile, probably feeling shy from how close a girl was leaning to his face.

Nakamori smiled back and hugged him, "You're so cute!"

Kuroba laughed at seeing Edogawa embarrassed and surprised, Irene herself couldn't help but smile slightly before Nakamori let him back down.

Ginzo then went next in the introduction, "Well, you've met me before, but I already know your situation so. I'm Nakamori Ginzo, Aoko's father and the Ekoda Police Inspector."

Edogawa blinked and nodded, "Nice to meet you... But how did we meet? I've never been to Ekoda before right?"

Ginzo saw Irene shaking her head and so he said, "I bumped into you while working in Tokyo is all."

Even though she knew the name Kaito Kid wouldn't ring a bell, she didn't want him to know that he was smarter than his age, that could lead to him knowing about his identity which was the opposite of what was needed.

Ginzo sat back down and said, "Now come on boy. Sit down. Unless you're not hungry?"

The amnesiac's stomach growled as if answering the question and he blushed in embarrassment as almost everyone laughed before he finally took his seat, which was beside Irene at the end of the table.

They all said, "Itadakimasu." before starting to eat.

Edogawa's eyes lit up as he said, "This is delicious! Better than hospital food." then he continued to eat and Nakamori was happy about the comment, though Kuroba and Ginzo laughed at the last thing he said.

Irene just ate, but that was to hide another smile that was on her face.

And then Kuroba started to liven things up like usual by peeking under Nakamori's skirt and starting another mop chase around the table.

Irene and Ginzo, being used to this, just ignored it and continued eating, Edogawa meanwhile, seemed surprised as he watched them.

Though Irene ended it by tripping the magician and getting him finally hit with the mop, something which made him glare at her as she continued eating which made Edogawa laugh out loud for the first time since his waking up with amnesia.

That made everyone smile softly.

And that was the first time the Nakamoris had lunch with the, technically former, for now, Kid Killer.

AN: Done! Hope you guys liked it! 

Awww, Aoko likes Conan already. Not that it's surprising, he's cute. >w<

And look at that, his first time laughing ever since waking up. And it was thanks to Irene and Kaito. Now isn't that sweet?
