"Really?" Peeta asks. I listen i hear the familiar whistle. I whistle the three noted whistle i used back in the games. Rue taught me it, i feel like it was made for me. It responds-mocking my whistle. Sounding eerie and very familiar. "You think two survived some how from Snow and then they reproduced?" Peeta said. "Yea i think, sound's possible" i said. Peeta whistles, they whistle back. They die down until all i hear is other bird song and the swaying of the trees. The cool breeze lifts my hairs on my neck, down to my spine until one point I'm shivering.

We sit back down, nibbling on granola and bread. A mockingjay flies over our head, it chirps like a blue jay. I throw a piece of bread and he falls on it, pecking it until crumbs. Then eating the crumbs until it is nothing. "Wow he sure is hungry" he said, throwing another piece of bread. Three more birds come making high screeching sounds. About a foot away they seem to not mind our presence. Not even when i move, peeta claps. They fly away quickly, in an alarmed matter. They chirp then one after the other they mimic each other. Then moments later the sound becomes alarmed. Three dear charge out of the thick forest into the meadow. There tails are high, showing there white tails fluffed up in fear. "What's going on?" Peeta asks. I shrug looking around, waiting for anything to pop out. I haven't seen deer in so long. Since District 13 but not here, all i could do now is just stare at there graceful gallops.

I get up, i usher Peeta to get up to. Two people are at the bottom pointing guns around, looking for-- the deer. "Hey!" i yell. There small heads from way down below turn towards us. "Katniss..." he said with a troubled voice. "Eh!" i hear one of there voices. I usher for them to come up. Hunting is not aloud in this meadow or forest. The other side of District 12 has hunting grounds but here, is sacred ground. I hunt here, but no one knows, i'm not part of district hunting patrols. They make it up to us there guns are in each of there hands. "The hunting grounds is at the other side of District 12" i said leveling my gaze at them. "Oh darling and who says?" the man says with a beard. "Yea" another man, younger, about Peeta's age says. "The mayor, go ask for yourself. So leave" i said. "Sorry young lady but you don't tell--" he stops, Peeta clenches his jaw coming out from behind me. "Very well then" the older man said in a husky voice.

He starts walking towards town, he stops. "Wait a second" the younger one said. He faces us both looking at us for a while, looking up and down at us. "I recognize you" the younger one said. "Oh really? Does Victor sound good?" i said, peeta besides me grins. "Your the--ones-wow it's an honor" he said coming up to shake my hand. I shake his hand in awkward silence. "You owe us a deer!" the young one yells back. "Okay. When?" i said.  He doesn't even say anything, they both know i can hunt i could kill a deer right now. But killing innocent deer doesn't sound good- it never will. It used to long ago before the 74th hunger games. After everything- i haven't hunted. Once they leave Peeta starts to laugh quietly. I grin, then laugh silently.

Madge is at our doorstep, there are tears running down he rosy cheeks. "Madge?" i ask her. I bend at her eye level. "My dad he's in the hospital, some hunters shot him because he told them where to hunt" she said. "Oh no i shouldn't of told!" i hiss. Peeta behind me sighs, shaking his head sadly. "Well he'll be fine honey" i said, reassuring here. She nods still crying silently.  Why would those two do that? Poor Mayor Undersee. "Are they in jail now?" i ask. She shakes her head. Then she looks up, alarmed. There right behind us. She screams.
