The next morning while we dropped our kids off to bubbly Effie I noticed in Johanna's house no lights glowed. They usually did, and in one window a drape was pulled over. She always opens the drapes, she hates her house being dark. She likes it bright, which doesn't seem like her at all. Peeta seemed to notice too.
"Bye! Enjoy your day!" I said to them as they walked backwards while waving. They turned and began to skip to Effie's steps. In the corner of my eye, I noticed mother cleaning up her yard. I neared her and spotted weeds scattering the ground in a messy looking line. Her hair was twisted into a messy frizzy bun. Mothers eyes shot up to me in a surprised alarm. "Decided to sneak up on me?" she teased, her green eyes almost seemed a dark blue in her cheerful mood. I smiled "I was just watching for a moment." She pulled each of us in a hug. "So. How'd the children's new school go? she started conversationally. "Oh they were so happy when they got back. They didn't even say they missed anyone-which took me by surprise" I said, Peeta nods in agreement. "That is good to hear!" she comments her small smile widens, stretching far. It seemed forever of not seeing my mom. I loved her. Each time I looked at her I was reminded of Prim. It hurt. I wouldn't ever let it show. Never. But I looked at her and thought of, mother.

"Do you know where Johanna is?" Peeta said.

Mother's eyes widen slightly, they turned bright like a flash of lightening. She begins to pick up weeds while talking. "Johanna had her baby at four in the morning. I was going to tell you" she said. My heart leaped and I seemed to squeak in astonishment. "MOM!" I said, protesting. "You should of told me right away!." She laughs and Peeta chuckles, already coming to grab my hand. We begin to walk, passing our own house. I stop in my tracks and wheel around, on my heels. "Arn't you coming?" I question loudly. I can make out her grin. "I already saw. She's lovely" she said, and as I had come closer, it seemed like she purred it. "She had a girl" I whisper to my self and began to smile like a mischievous child.

I darted into her room. I was so excited, I felt like a child who could pick anything out at a candy shop without stopping. Like a sugar rush, but I wasn't a child. So I calmed down. Jack was laughing at me. The baby was cradled into his big arms. The baby, who slept, looked so delicate and small. "She's beautiful" Peeta complements, behind me. Johanna's mouth gawks open in her sleep. "So tell me. What happened?" I asked, sitting next to him. Peeta leaned against the wall, waiting, and you could see the affection in his eyes as he looked at the baby. He told me the story slowly. And saved it for a story for my children tonight when maybe--they would see the child. But she was to young for so much attention, too much people. Germs. Kids. She'd only need fed, nurtured, and she'd sleep half of the day. Her eyes were close so I couldn't see what color of eyes she had. "Brown" Jack answers my silent question. I look up at him, his eyes tender. This was what I was wanting to ask right when I got into here. "What's her name?" I ask. "Aria" he answered, his tongue rolled a little, like he said it in a different language. I repeated the name but without the roll. "Beautiful name" Peeta said. I smile, nodding. "Johanna should wake up soon" Jack said, the baby stirs and starts to blubber words. "Can I hold her?" I ask. "Yea. Of course. Knock yourself out" he said. He careful transitions Aria to the crook of my arms. "Hello Aria. Have you met your mommy yet?" I said sweetly. She seems to smile, revealing a pink mouth. Aria's mouth will soon hold teeth. Which will give her a wondrous smile.
