Every mission you went on was exhilarating and you loved it. You loved the feeling of saving the world and putting yourself into harms way, as crazy as it sounds. It was a huge adrenaline rush for you, and maybe that's why you were such a great agent.
You were running down the streets of Nepal with Natasha at your side. The world seemed to concave around you, cars and buildings combusting as you ran past them. You weren't scared though, at least it didn't look that way to Natasha.
"You take that alley and see what you can find. Meet me back at capitol building when you've finished your sweep." You nodded as Natasha instructed you on what to do. You turned a left and slowed your running to a brisk walk, wiping sweat out of your eyes as you did so.
"You going my way?" You heard a voice say behind you, and you cringed. Who says that to anyone? You slowly turned around, your gun ready to be fired at anyone who dares to touch you. The man's eyes went wide when he saw your weapon and he put his hands up.
"Woah woah, I was just trying to be friendly. I'm Scott," The man said, sticking out his hand for you to shake. You looked down at it and then back up at Scott, your eyebrows furrowing.
"That's great. Why are you following me?" you asked, and Scott just simply laughed as if it were a joke.
"I'm kind of doing my job," Scott retorted, leaning against the brick wall. You rolled your eyes and stuffed your gun back into its holster, coming to the conclusion that this man wouldn't harm you.
"Well I'd like to keep mine so if you'd excuse me," you nudged past Scott to finish your sweep. You heard a zapping noise and turned around to see that Scott was gone. You were so confused. How did that happen? You just shrugged it off and disappeared through an open door at the end of the alley.

Needless to say you should not have gone into that building. You probably shouldn't even have gone down the alley, or talked to the Scott man. You only figured this out as you laid on the ground, a bullet in your shoulder and blood pouring out of the wound. Your breathing was labored and tears fell down your face as you thought of how this could be your last day on Earth and no one would find you. That was until you heard a voice you had only met. Scott's voice. It felt as though it was right in your ear, and you thought you might have been imagining it.
"Hello? Are you okay?" You moved your head to look to the right when you saw a tiny version of the man you met just mere thirty minutes before. So that's how he disappeared so quickly. You watched him press a button on his suit and become a fully grown human again. He gripped on to your hand and squeezed, the sensation almost numb to you.
"Ant Boy, huh?" You managed to mumble, and he laughed. "I've seen some crazy things but that has to be the craziest." "It's actually Ant Man but I'll let it slide this time," he replied. "You never told me your name." "I'm Y/N," You breathed. The pain was immense and you felt like giving up.
"Well Y/N, just tell me who to contact and I'll get right on it." You could tell now that Scott was a good man with nothing but good intentions. He seemed caring and loyal, something you looked for in a partner.
"Just help me get out of here and get to the capitol building," You replied, ready to stand. Scott hesitated before lifting you from the ground and hurrying you outside.
Natasha's eyes widened when she saw you being dragged by a stranger. She had all intentions of ripping out his throat when you told her that he saved you. Natasha took you in her arms and spoke into her communicator. She gripped you tight and tried to stop the blood, glaring at Scott and sizing him up.
"You can go now," Natasha scowled at him and he put his hands up.
"Alright, alright. Stay safe okay?" Scott turned to walk away before you shouted.
"Hey Ant Boy!" a smirk took over his features and he spun around. "Give me a call, kay?" He nodded and shrunk himself, running off to do what ants do best.
You were being assigned a new mission partner, something you were excited for but also nervous for. Chances are you'd get a newbie that knows nothing about the job and you'd have to start from scratch.
Coulson called you to his office and you tiptoed down the hall quickly. You didn't make a sound and no one expected you when you knocked on the door and stepped inside.
"Ah, y/n. Just the agent I wanted to see. Y/n, this is Scott, and he'll be your new partner." Scott turned around and he smiled at you. You instantly recognized him, the Ant Man who saved you.
"Nice seeing you again Y/N," Scott says and you smile.
"You too Ant Boy," Coulson furrowed his eyebrows between the two of you, glancing back and forth as your gazes stuck for a little too long.
"Ok, well I'll let you two catch up. You're excused." You thanked Coulson and walked out the door, Scott following you. You couldn't believe it.
"Are ya surprised?" Scott asked as he walked next to you. Of course you were. You'd talked to Scott a few times after the incident in Africa, but you had never talked about your work lives, so of course it was a surprise. You glanced over at Scott who had a stupid silly grin on his face that only made you smile.
"Of course I'm surprised. I didn't know you even wanted to try to work for SHIELD," you took a left down the corridor towards Maria Hill's office.
"Anything to be closer to you," Scott replied. It was a little too cheesy to be believable, especially coming from such a jokester. You shoved his shoulder as you neared the offices, catching Maria's attention as Scott walked into the door. His cheeks turned a Rouge color and you tried your hardest to bite back your giggles.
After you finish your business with Maria- which is just signing papers and way too many at that- your stomach begins to make the noises of a whale, and Scott notices.
"Someone's hungry," Scott teases and you roll your eyes. "We should totally fix that. Reggie's?" Your taken back. You were just going to fix yourself a sandwich and do some work, not actually go out. But Scott, smooth Scott. He had other plans.
"I don't really have the money to go out," you replied sadly.
"Well it wouldn't be a date if you payed for yourself," Scott's stance was confident, a cocky smile making its way onto his features. This made you smile. You liked Scott, you really did. Maybe a little too much for your own good.
"Oh.... Well..." You tried to hide your excitement. Be cool, be cool. "I suppose that's okay. I mean I'd have to check my schedule." You smirked at Scott who was genuinely nervous that you would say no. "Looks like I'm free. When do we leave?" Scott smiled at you.
"Whenever you're ready."
"Well then let's go Ant Boy, pizza's not gonna eat itself." You grabbed Scott's hand and pulled him out the door and down the street.
