Regina Mills and Child!reader

"I believe I promised someone some rocky road."
Regina says as she holds your hand and walks you towards the ice cream parlor with Robin on the other side of you.
"Regina, Emma and Killian are back." You hear your dad say looking up from his phone as you eat happily your ice cream, unaware of the things that were about to happen.
"They're at Granny's." You hear Robin say while you walk outside the parlor still holding Regina's hand. You liked her, but you were still missing your mom, and how could you not? Marian was your mother, and her death had been a great burden you still endured everyday. "Marian!" You hear you daddy say.
You immediately look up from your ice cream cone and drop it when you see you mom in front of you. "M-Mama?! Mommy!" you cry and run to hug her. It's her, it's her! Your mama is back, and you can't believe it.

Why?! Why is it when you get your mommy back this snow queen finds a way to take her away from you. They had tried to hide it from you but you knew mommy was sick and you also knew Regina was trying her very best to save her.
"Regina?" You say descending the stairs to her vault. "Y/N? What are you doing here, sweetheart?" Regina says as she bends down to your eye level. "Save my mommy, Regina. Please" you cry on her shoulder as you hugged her tightly.
"Sh, it's okay Y/N. Y/N look at me." Regina tells you as she grabs you from your shoulders and looks you in the eye. "I will do everything, in my power to save Marian, okay?" Regina says while she strokes your hair. "I need you to trust me, Y/N." You nod and ask her if you can stay with her a little bit longer. "Fine, then. But don't touch anything. A lot of stuff in here is really dangerous."
Regina tells you as she sits on a chest with a book on her hands. You crawl on all fours and sit on the floor next to her, you lie your head down on her lap and she unconsciously starts to stroke your hair softly until your eyes can no longer stay open.
You dream of ice monsters and queens in white, threateningly faces loom upon you and everyone you love. "N-No. No! Please stop!" You cry, your whole body shaking with fear. "Y/N! Wake up, please." Regina says cupping your face and getting rid of the tears that stained your cheeks.
"Mommy." You say still crying and hug her tightly, Regina sits you on her lap and you cry on her shoulder until no more tears leave your eyes. "I'm here Y/N, I'll always be. And I won't let anything or anyone hurt you again, okay?" Regina holds your face with both her hands and places a kiss on your forehead.

As you get ready to cross the town line you hold tightly onto Regina, you don't want to leave her. You have grown quite fond of her and the thought of not seeing her anymore makes you more sad than it should. "Y/N, you have to leave, sweetheart." Regina tries to give you an encouraging smile but you can see the sadness in her eyes. "I'll miss you Regina." You say holding back the tears. "As shall I, Y/N." Regina hugs you and strokes your hair.
"Take care of your dad, Y/N. I will see you again I promise." "I trust you on that, Mommy."
