Finally, i was out of there, the last year of my life was awful. I couldn't stand all of the drama and aggravation that my old high school caused me. The constant bulling and victimisation that the other students caused. I was only lucky that my parents found out about the problems occurring to me before i had the chance of doing something stupid. "Y/n, we want to talk to you!" my mother yelled up the stair to me, i knew what she wanted as her and my father had both been searching new schools for the past 3 three months, while i was getting therapy to help control my depression the bullying had caused. i hopped off my bed and made my way to my living room where both of my parents and my older brother were sitting. I took a seat across from them and looked up to see their smiling faces. "yes parents, you asked for me." i said with a bold tone in my voice, causing my brother to snigger. " Well, Y/n you will be glad to know that we have found a school suitable for you, which is just up the road from us." my father beamed while my mother smiled brightly. "R,Really you found a good one?" i couldn't believe it, i did want to go back to school but something inside of me was making me want to give up on education all together. "yes sweetheart, aren't you excited?" i was speechless, What could i say? "well we are going to have a look round the school on Monday so we can see it for ourselves." my mum interjected. "OK, fine. I'm going out to meet Lisa, i'll see you later." i said standing up, i just needed to get some air and hopefully have my best friend to give me some well thought out advice. "Ok sweetie, be back before 9 please." dad said giving me a hug. I nodded and went to my room to grab my bag. I sent a quick text to Lisa, 'hey lis, i need some best friend time, got a dilemma!', within a minute of sending it she replied, 'Of course, meet you by the park in 5!'
As i edged towards the park i saw Lisa staring at a few boys sitting on a bench, typical Lisa always on the look out for a boy. I tapped her on the shoulder making her jump and yelp, causing the boys to look over in our direction. "Oh my god Y/n you scared the hell out of me, so what's up?" she said pulling me into a bone crushing hug. "um, your crushing me lis, i can't breathe!" she pulled away and giggled. "oops sorry, got too excited." "it's okay, just chill out a bit before you embarrass yourself." "Ok, all chilled out, now what did you want my wonderful advice on?" i took a deep breath, preparing myself. "well my parents have found a new school for me to go to. Should i go there?" Lisa gave me a sympathetic smile and put her hand on my shoulder. "Look Y/n, you have been through a lot of shit over the past year, your one of the most bravest people i have ever had the fortune of knowing. I'm not going to say that the worst is over because in all honesty, its not, there is definitely going to be more struggles that you'll have to face. But i think you should try this school out, it definitely can't be any worst then the last one can it. Who knows you might over come your anxiety. try it, it might surprise you." I took all of Lisa's advice and made a decision, i should at least give this school a chance, it might even workout. "Thank you Lisa, you are truly the best." i said feeling relived that i spoke with her about this. "I know i am." she replied proudly placing a hand on her chest. "And modest." I giggled. "Of course, now lets get some food, i am starving, how about, burger king?" I nodded she grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the park.
~Time skip to Monday~
I woke up at 9 feeling very nervous about the day ahead of me, For the first in 2 months i was going to be going into a school environment. I dressed in a pair of ripped skinny jeans, a pair of black ankle boots, a dark grey shirt and a Dark blue hoodie. I grabbed my bag with my phone and went downstairs were i was greeted by my mum waiting by the front door. We arrived at the school and made our way the reception. "Hello, how may i help you today?" the woman sitting behind the desk asked with slight annoyance in her voice. "Umm, we are here for a tour of the school, we booked an appointment with the head, Y/l/n?" my dad said. " Oh yes sorry, its been a hectic morning, wait one second, i'll just get her for you." the woman replied standing up and walking down the hall, she returned a few minutes with a smartly dressed man carrying a set of books. "ahh, Mr and Mrs y/l/n, hello, i'm The head, Mr Dunham, Sorry i was late, i got caught up in a meeting, Linda could you stack these files away, thank you!" Mr Dunham said. "That's ok, This is our daughter, Y/n." my dad replied. "Hello y/n, welcome. Lets get started shall we?" He said ushering us towards the first building. We walked through the hallway passing multiple classrooms filled with students. I completely zoned out until we passed one class, which Mr Dunham walked us into. "Daniel Howell, do not talk back to your teacher!" the woman at the front of the class warned a student as we entered. I looked over to the boy that she was talking to and i was stunned, he had brown hair that was pushed across his forehead, his dark brown eyes glimmered and when he smiled he had the cutest of dimples. i didn't quite realise i was staring until my mum nudged my arm catching my attention. "Y/n, look up." I did and saw the teacher from inside the class standing in front of me. "Hello, Y/n i'm Miss Femrt, i teach english and i'm also this forms tutor and soon to be yours." I smiled at her, but i was actually smiling because if i attend this place, i'll be in the same form as the handsome boy in that class.
We finished up the tour and it was time for me to make my decision. "So Mr and Mrs Y/l/n, what do you think?" both my parents looked over to me for my opinion. I nodded subtly, and they turned back around nodding too. After signing lots of forms we were on our way back home and for the the first time in a while i was actually excited to go to school, and for the rest of my life to start.
