Your phone vibrated against your leg. Being lazy, you craned your head to see the name flashing on your phone. A smile worked its way to your face and you answered it. "Why, Thomas, how delightful."
"The pleasure's all mine, miss Y/L/N." His British accented compliment made you blush, thanking your lucky stars that he couldn't see you.
"I'm sure it is," you teased, "So, how's Scorch Trials?" You haven't heard from your best friend for so long because of the movie so you hoped it would be at least good.
Thomas smiled. He was still on set so Dylan and Ki Hong saw and wondered who he was talking to. They decided to eavesdrop. "Actually, in a week, we just have to film a couple of scenes, then it's a wrap."
The boys could faintly hear your voice, but still had no idea who he was talking to. "You're invited, Y/N!" Thomas laughed. "So, can you come?" A look of hopefulness came to his face, making Dylan make a playful pouty face. "Really?" He checked, "Brilliant! I'll call you later to set up a driver or something like that." You told him that he didn't need to. "Y/N, it'll be fine! Anything for you."
Red flushed to the boy's cheeks and he bid you goodbye. Almost the second after he hung up, Dylan and Ki Hong jumped him. "So, Tommy, your girlfriend coming next week?" He teased.
He smiled. "Y/N's my best friend, not my girlfriend."
Dylan mimicked a purposely awful British accent, "Anything for you, love!"
"I didn't say love!"
"You might as well," Ki Hong mumbled, "Your cheeks are still red, Tommy." With that, the boys needed to get ready for the next scene. Dylan and Hi Kong forgot about it, but Thomas was excited to see his best friend. It was hard to put a grim face on for being Newt.
After a week of waiting, the driver picked you up at around 10:30. He gave you a note with Thomas's scrawly handwriting. Hope you slept well, Sleeping Beauty. Make sure to find me first :)
It was exactly like Thomas to leave notes instead of texting or calling. He called himself too old-fashioned for all the new fangled technology. You agreed. Thomas always had his old soul.
The driver pulled up to the studio. Thanking him quickly, you went to the door, unsure. People rushed everywhere until the director yelled, "Action!" You stood close to the door and watched silently.
It was just a scene with Thomas and his fellow actors that you had yet to meet. He didn't notice you, being so involved in the scene. Thomas was an amazing actor. You had met when he was in Love Actually, since your dad was friends with the director. Even then, you were entranced with his acting.
He wore a dirty outfit, since Newt had been in the Scorch for a bit, but Thomas was undeniably handsome. You found yourself staring until the scene was over.
A pair of arms wrapped around your waist and picked you up, snapping you out of your thoughts. That was a typical Thomas move. "Thomas, let me go!" You tried to seem mad, but your giggles escaped.
He smiled mischievously. "But you're having so much fun!" In the weird position you were in, you tried to glare at him. Thomas just laughed at your attempt.
Someone clearing their throat made the two of you look at his fellow actors. You forgot that you were in a room with a bunch of people, that were looking at you. "Hello," you said awkwardly, since Thomas was still holding you.
The boys smiled a bit. "Hate to break up the lover's reunion," Dylan teased, "But Kaya is coming to join our game for the final time with the Scorch Trials." He smiled at you. "She's also, like, crazy excited to meet you."
Thomas finally put you down, but started to lean on you a bit. "You told them I was coming?" You asked.
"Oh, your friend is coming today?" Ki Hong asked with obvious sarcasm, "You should have said something. We had no idea."
"Hang on, I think I remember him saying something about it," Dylan continued with the sarcasm, "Once-"
"-Or twice."
"A minute."
"All week," Ki Hong finished with a smirk. Dylan nudged Thomas.
You laughed with the boys while Thomas just looked embarrassed. "I didn't," he stated.
Before the boys could respond, a girl with black hair and blue eyes approached the group. "Ready for the game?" She noticed you. "You must be Y/N! Thomas has been talking about you all week!" Dylan looked at Thomas's red cheeks and snickered. "I'm Kaya. Are you playing with us?"
"Playing what?" You asked.
"It's basically hide and seek in the studios," Thomas explained, "Starting...NOW! Girls it!" The three boys ran away, leaving you with Kaya. So much for his old soul, you thought while smiling.
"Okay, so we just wait here for a bit," she said, "Thomas is really hard to find. He can fit anywhere." You nodded in agreement.
You ended up finding Thomas last. So Dylan had to be it while the rest of you hid. Since you had never been in the studio before, you had no idea where you were going.
Seeing a door, you assumed it was some sort of storage closet and opened it. Not really checking what was in it, you fit yourself inside. "Y/N?" You almost jumped at the familiar voice.
"Thomas?" You asked, "Were you hiding here? I'm sorry. I'll find another spot." You couldn't really see in the dark closet.
He chuckled. "You're fine, Y/N. We'll just share it."
There were a few moments of silence. "It's weird that I can't see you," you admitted.
"Yeah, it is," Thomas agreed. You could imagine the smirk on his face. A hand gripped yours. "Is that you?"
"Yeah, that's me."
"Good, I don't want to think what else it could have been." His thumb began rubbing small circles on the back of your hand. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say that you were right to my left."
Thomas leaned in a bit more so your arms touched. "Knew it." You heard some shuffling before he moved in front of you. You could see a vague outline of him.
Since it was a small closet, you and Thomas were rather close. You backed away a bit to give him space, but you almost fell. Grabbing your shoulders, Thomas steadied you, only making you come closer to him and blush.
"We're best friends, right?"
"The best," you agreed.
He checked, "And you'd forgive me if I did something stupid, right?"
"Probably," you replied, "Why, Thomas?"
"Because I'm about to do something stupid." With that, you felt his lips on yours. You immediately returned the kiss.
Your mind went haywire. On one hand, Thomas was your best friend and you might ruin your friendship, but kissing him felt so right.
The kiss ended when you both breathed the much needed air. "That wasn't too stupid," you admitted.
"Really?"
"Well, you've done stupider things," you recalled, "Remember the makeshift bike and sticking our fingers in electrical sockets? Also, the time when our teacher-" Thomas cut you off by kissing you again, making you forget about the other stupid moments and focus on that one.
