You looked over at Derek as he trudged through the snow covered parking lot with a sullen expression on his face. Snow flakes were falling all around him and catching in the stubble on his face, and you couldn't resist poking a little fun at the sour wolf.
"Why are you so grumpy?" you asked.
"I'm not grumpy," he told you. "I just hate the cold. I hate snow. I hate Christmas."
"So literally everything fun then?" you offered as you kicked some powdery snow out of your way.
He paused for a minute, looking over at you with just a hint of a smile on his lips. "Yes."
"You know, just because you're the alpha-"
"Y/n," he warned.
"Don't 'Y/n' me," you told him. "You might be the alpha, but you're not mine. You know Erica and Boyd are celebrating with their families, and Isaac is just in the loft by himself."
"So?"
"So, we're a pack. And you need to stop bitching about the cold and everything you hate about the holidays and try to have fun for once."
"I don't have time to have fun," he argued. "The Argents-"
"Are celebrating with each other," you finished. "Trust me, they're not hunting right now."
He mumbled something under his breath and you asked "What was that?"
"Nothing," he told you as he tightened his leather jacket around his shoulders.
You smiled and paused for a minute as you knelt down in the snow. You scooped some into your hands and formed it into a ball with a sly smile.
"What are you doing?" Derek asked with a glare.
"You never said you hated snowball fights," you told him.
"Don't you da-"
He stopped as a powdery white ball of snow crashed into his face, and he slowly wiped it off. He glared at you as he slowly walked forward.
"Come on, Big Bad Wolf," you taunted. "You scared?"
Your eyes went wide as he let out a growl and stalked forward. You stumbled back in the snow and turned to run, but Derek was quickly wrapping his arms around you and yanking you back. You let out a squeal and tried to wiggle away, but he kept his hold.
"Scared?" he asked as his fingers dug into your sides to tickle you. "Still think I'm scared?"
"N-no!" you gasped between fits of laughter. "Derek, stop!"
"Say I'm not scared," he growled playfully in your ear.
"O-okay! Okay! You're not scared!"
He chuckled and dropped you, and you sat up and pecked him on the cheek. "Still hate the holidays?"
Derek shrugged as he helped you to your feet in the snow. "They're growing on me."
